At least they acknowledged and expressed concern for those people. Not poor Aramu.

And definitely be as far away from anything resembling shelter as possible. Like not even within reasonable running distance. Nope, good and exposed is the way to do it.
Shame he didn't stand on the porch to watch them. I guess most people seeing potentially dangerous animals try to get closer to them.
It chimes in with another theme of the episode that until Larry knocks the cutout out of the way Ted Danson appears to be starring in a film called LIE.
Also if he had a phone why didn’t he call his people who were looking for him instead of his ex-cop husband who he’s separated from and is in the UK.
Like I said, it’s fine when it works well but as they wrote them, the alien portions of the plot undermine the message they’re trying to tell.
Another “what the hell?” bit, the pathogen is intelligent? Why did they throw that in there.
Sounded fairly accurate. When I lived in England, the school I went to taught Castillian Spanish, so words had the “th” sound. The teacher mentioned this and the difference between Meixcan Spanish.
Now that I’ve spent two minutes thinking on it, it might have been less “club you over the head with it” if The Doctor asked why there was this really high-tech lab in such an out-of-the-way place, and Suki responded with a cover story of “We’re researching ways to use tailored bacteria to deal with microplastics.”…
“But given how wide ranging the season’s been so far, a discussion of the legitimacy of Confederate monuments seems almost inevitable.”
This and Spyfall we’re both a bit hyperactive for my taste. I don’t mind zippy pacing but it feels like they’re trying to disguise weak plotting by not lingering on anything too long.
To be fair, the audience has changed a bit since the classic era. There are more adults than kids watching, and the kids who watvh are pretty savvy.
Teleporting to a place where the inhabitants have to wear gas masks in our atmosphere feels like a really bad idea.
Other mssing lines of dialog from the show:
For those people (like me) who’ve been wishy-washy on the fam as companions this was the first time they actually felt like companions and less like a bunch of the Doctor’s house guests. Yaz even did something (although I’m not sure if I see what Caroline is seeing about her becoming like an “independent Doctor-like…
This is the third time Yaz has been teleported away from the group. I’ll admit the first time wasn’t her choice, but the last two were. It’s getting to be a thing and I hope they do something useful with it.
Also holy shit its been a while since this show treated a side character so callously.
Is the inconsistency around handling the minor characters getting worse? A couple weeks ago, we had everyone hop in a bus and go on an ill-starred suicide mission to try to rescue the old man. When that failed and his wife was killed, she barely even got mentioned again.
As a fan of both Luther and Misfits from back in the day, I was already chuffed seeing Brown and McNulty show up. But I have to admit, the big save at the end did make me smile for their characters, those two crazy kids.
I thought this episode was fine but it is an example of of my big problem with the Chibnall era stories. Namely how the big issues are now very spelled out and unsubtle. Now that in itself is not a bad thing but way they try to combine them with the alien plots is.
