The death penalty is one of our most barbaric institutions, so I think reopening a few old wounds to ensure that not even one innocent person slips through the cracks onto death row is beyond worth it. Those taxpayers wouldn’t have to pay for all this re-sentencing if we didn’t have a death row to begin with.
