So this movie is a mindfuck that frequently offers intriguing visuals? I can accept that. That could be right up my alley. But help me out: When did we all agree that Gore Verbinski was some visionary filmmaker? I missed out on that vote.

Call it the Kate Hudson Conundrum.

I'm happy that Laverne Cox is a regular on a series where her gender status is not the whole story of her character. Especially because I think I saw her on a latter-season Law & Order rerun last week, playing a truck stop hooker.

For God's sake, let him go.

So… vintage Eddie Murphy for the shirt, Olivia DeHaviland for the headgear?

Finally, some momentum. Just a little momentum. For a storyline with such a (presumed) long way to go, the endless foot-dragging is ridiculous. And even though we've seen the group start on the road to rebellion, this whole introduction-and-abortive-recruitment drive feels like it's going to take up too much time.

I wish this series the Divergent movies' fate: So much failure in this installment that a final movie, if made, will not even be released to theaters.

Trump is going to do what he wants, regardless. And the power-mad and compromised Republican Congress will fill in the gaps for him where necessary.

I agree with this, largely. Part of the excellence of last weekend's Spicer Massacre was it's total unexpectedness. SNL had already served up Trump and his administration twice in the episode already. And McCarthy just came out of nowhere and killed it.

Okay. They just play fast and loose with one-dimensional middle eastern terrorists, until the real Russian or Chinese or American puppet masters reveal themselves.

Betsy DeVos is gonna straighten this all out!

If anything, this kind of makes my point. Fox has seen that, effectively, Marvel has made Wolverine Old Man Logan. So they steal that idea for their next movie.

I'll watch a few more hours of this, but the familiarity of this material isn't doing it any favors, starting with the merciless middle eastern terrorist trope. To be fair to the 24 franchise, although they always start with these villains, often in these seasons, there is a divergence that takes us to another

I recently watched Blue Is the Warmest Color, so certain… reactions to that sketch were inevitable.

So what's Trump's issue with Chicago, then? Is he upset that killers are plying their trade in the "inner city?"

Mine, too. I am incredibly out of touch with the UK music scene these days, and I used to DJ. So imagine my surprise to see Sampha on Colbert last fall, and on Fallon about a month ago, so far in advance of his record being released here.

I don't expect that we'll see him and Katie working together anytime soon, but where is Broussard? Nothing from him for three episodes. I want to see where his resistance is going, given the new climate in Los Angeles.

In spite of the fact that it appears NBC just rounded up leftovers from other series (Funches and Pudi), I'll give it a shot for a couple more. I'm assuming there's some reveal coming for Hudgens' character, because she was really colorless. Just hope she doesn't end up with powers or something.

I can't recall the actual issue, but the Green Lantern cover was obviously Silver-Age Gil Kane.
