I think we can both agree that trying new battle systems is kind of fun. It keeps us FF fans on our toes. In a way it helps to separate each story and each world from each other.

So the best is what, 8 or 9 or 7? This is the problem with FF fans. Everyone would die for their favorite and smack talk any new one because it doesn’t trigger reflex nostalgia. I’d rather they experiment and try something new than give us the same old gameplay every time.

Well one should point out that simply having a loser playthrough may not trigger this event. You have to have to not only have an unconscious ally, but also the boss is giving you a dialog option.
