Okay, so now I live in Sweden, where the laws are pretty great — check them out! I did grow up in the states, and I'm moving into an industry full of small businesses (floristry). Buuuut, I think it is total bullshit that someone with kids gets EVERY weekend and EVERY holiday off.

Part of owning a small business is

At first I was mad about it, but then I kept reading all the criticism and comparisons with Beyoncé and realized that I was wrong and you guys were totally right about the implications.

I've been with you 100% up to this. No, they can't always get priority — that's tantamount to discrimination against childless people and that also isn't fair or right.

So, I'm an American living in Stockholm, Sweden. I volunteer, if you want me!

Yeah, if you send in a tip they use you should really be degreyed.

This is so so important and I am really excited to see someone so powerful support something so near and dear to my heart.

Too bad I live in Sweden!

I kind of really like that robe.

Soooo how about that fika we keep postponing? :D

I really want to know where my membership card is, goddammit.

Thanks for the support!

I'm bookmarking this to read again when I'm ready to begin improving my physical health. Right now, if I'm totally honest with myself (and I'm not usually) — I'm not there yet. I'm working on some serious mental health issues and completely reorienting my life to take better care of my own needs, and — surprise! — one

Oh god the brain lady! I was thinking of that a few days ago!

Okay, so feelings is a rough translation of "känslor" — my explaination's not going to be super elegant because I'm learning this stuff in my second language.

It's 10 months, half in the classroom, half as traineeships. I had no idea who much goes into it and how much continuing education and specialization there is in the field.

I do! It's very very hands on, which is suiting me. It's on a split schedule — one month of classes on site, then one month of traineeship/internship at a florist, then rinse and repeat. In a month of classes I haven't missed a single day, which is pretty huge for me.

How to take care of the plants, the names of plants, the "feelings" that various flower shapes give, techniques to make bouquets and decorations, and later we'll be doing stuff like color theory and visual merchandising.. so a lot!

I have missed you guys at SNL so much! I started florist school at the beginning of the month, and the whole getting up at 6:30 AM in Europe thing didn't mix well with staying up so late :(

Special shoes are only cosmetic. You like me probably have weird joints. My femur are anteverted, the only fix would be hip surgery- literally rotating the Bone in the joint.

I personally have wondered along the same lines — I have anteverted femurs, making me one of the 1% of pigeon-toed people who don't magically disappear during childhood (it got less noticeable as my hips broadened) . I was brutally bullied for it, so it's a bit of a sore spot to this day.
