If it's "something so small", why should it matter that she wants to keep her own name?

I don't know what to think of this, it just seems like a sad situation all around. It also seems like something that happens a LOT and the only reason this is newsworthy is because it involves a celebrity on a children's show.
Year ago, my friends sent out their wedding invitation with a note that they had decided to combine their two last names to make a new one, and were open to any suggestions on how they should go about it. One of them had a long Indian name, the other a long Jewish name, each a mouthful on its own. All the ways one…
I think this has a lot of validity. I was always desperate to be treated as a human being by men, and that meant being seen as independent, not clingy or needy and definitely not desirous of marriage. The #1 absolute mother of all stereotypes is that all women want is a husband. To a young woman with any interest in…
Thank you! It was really bugging me that I couldn't quite articulate what bothers me about the name-change issue. This is it, exactly.
This is the most apropos anecdote when told by "CatAss".
This made me lol for real.
They are the DEFINITION of smug. I think I stared at that photo too long and now I'm getting some kind of skin rash from overexposure to smugness.
Kinda jealous that you have your own "hate" club... you must be doing something right!
Thank you, SlayBelle. You are totally appreciated.
Not everything is about you.
Yes, this happens all the time. Also, families can keep a gay partner from visiting their loved one in the hospital, if the loved one is too sick to speak for him-/herself. Even if the family accepts that their relation is gay, sometimes they just don't like the partner and want to be dicks about it.
Hate to break it to you, but there are still large parts of the US where Jews are not welcome. I saw it firsthand with my Jewish ex. He definitely did not get treated like a taller, blonder, fine-haired gentleman would get treated in restaurants, country clubs, etc.
Like dcgators said: "wear regular clothes and enjoy the mexican food and music."
Yeah, I'm not Mexican, but to me the lawn mowing sign is what really makes this Officially Racist. If they hadn't been holding those signs I doubt we'd be reading about them on Jez.
I love Tig. I haven't heard the cancer set yet, I'm waiting till I feel like I can actually laugh at it. But she is super funny and has a subtlety that I think is genius. The Taylor Dayne story is epic.
Yes, I think this is 100% true. It has nothing to do with being online, and everything to do with the quality of the interaction.
Yeah, what you said. I really like the model. She is gorgeous. If I thought VS would ever hire this woman for real, I would have a much higher opinion of the company. Also, the whole "Pink ❤s Consent" concept is way too awesome to ever be real. :(
Obvious troll is obvious. But still pretty funny.
