It isnt odd if you think about it, as kids in HS grew up largely without ipdads/smartphones. They were 5 etc with the DS. The new generation only knows smartphones and when they grow up for the next gen handheld I doubt the numbers will stay the same. Sadly.

I also work in both areas of high school and primary school. While the 3DS is often talked about in HS, not so for younger kids in Primary.

My sister who has three kids got them all tablets, my partners friend got her kids tablets...people I know on government assistance got thier kids tablets.

The first phone to use android was in 2008 and iphone 2007. Since then, they have grown in ability and power exceptionally in just 6 YEARS. In less than 7 years, they will surpass the ps3/360.

Well I certainly hope that continues, but I see a younger generation coming in that will not see the need.

the 3ds came out in 2011...it is turning three next month. Though the DS stayed longer more than I thought before the 3DS first came out, 6 years and three months, not seven years.

What Nintendo needs to do is adopt a "sony mobile" system. It would be grand if the next handheld had andorid, but...emulators that exist with android will never see that happen.

I suspect a new DS/handheld announced next year, following trends the console will come out at the usual 5 year mark. The 3DS is definitely towards the end half of its cycle without a successor.

The Muppet films of today shouldn't be geared to kids (4-8) 100%...if you disagree then you must this trailer....if you liked it then I guess you don't know the different between being 100% for kids and having a wider range of audience.

Again, the Brady Bunch movies are a good example of adapting to a modern market. Nothing can be successful or true to an original if it neglects the passage of time and a grown up market.
