I’ve dealt with disordered eating long enough that there’s a lot of stuff that gets my back up. And I’m at a point where every time some person or group or company talks about “wellness”, it just ends up sounding like a scam to me. A scam designed to prey on women’s fears and insecurities.

This all feels really accurate. Like, up to and including the “let’s hit the save point right here” moment. Because, I mean, obviously.

Fandom has always, sadly, been toxic. Always. I walked away from it almost completely a good 11 years ago now. I miss a lot of it. I miss the community. I don’t miss watching people just hate and hate and hate... each other, the things they watch and read and play, the creatives involved in the production of whatever

Over the years I’ve started becoming painfully aware of trailers like this for movies where not a single female character has a line. Or even shows up.

Gentle reminder: it’s perfectly okay to not like any given food item but it’s not okay to make other people feel like garbage because they like it.

Why are so many people so FUCKING OBSESSED with calling other people pedophiles? I don’t understand this. At all. They see pedophiles everywhere and—?!?!

I’m slightly confused.

I just did a little google sleuthing into the departures/arrivals of directors for Thor: The Dark World, Ant-Man, and Solo: A Star Wars Story. I think Disney got Marvel in ‘09, so TDW and Ant-Man should both count under the Disney banner?

I’d actually kind of love this if it was a cast doing it en masse. Marvel’s already had experience with an actor (an Oscar-winner no less) not bothering to try because she was angry about creative issues and a director leaving the project she was working on. When it’s one actor, surrounded by particularly charismatic

That’s literally the first thing I thought when I finished reading this article.

There’s been a lot of back-and-forth with writers and readers for ages now about “please don’t pirate my book, okay, at least get it from the library”. And the response from the pirates is often a) but this ARC went out, see, and I don’t want to wait from your book; b) but I’m poor; or c) my library doesn’t have any

Also surviving. :)  (sorta) (mostly!)

Hey, I haven’t spotted a comment from you in ages. Hope you’re well.

Thanks! I had some spare time on my hands. Could you tell me why you took me so seriously, though?

I’m so sorry. It’s a frustrating, awful battle. When did you officially get diagnosed and get the medications? I’m on spironolactone, and on a low dose of glumetza as my sensitive stomach can’t handle much more than that. I hope you have a good, compassionate doctor now overseeing your health and well-being*. PBS has a lot of great educational/informational connections on YouTube, though some of those shows are no longer running. But also, they do air The Great British Bake Off/Baking Show, and I’ve been lucky enough to catch some really nice specials they air in the realm of concerts/comedy, like Victor Borge and, um,

You’re doing good work, my dude! :)
