That’s literally the name of the company. Look at the logo on the distant warehouse in the middle of the pic.

In my line of work, I dealt with FAG because they supply bearings. The point of contact I had, his last name was Ramsbottom, and I’m not making this up. The first time I heard it, it took a lot not to laugh.

We have 2 Fischer Bearings plants here. They are part of the Schaeffler Group. Also in the group are INA bearings and LUK bearings. We used to have signage that said LUK INA FAG. Before they had LUK it was just FAG INA.

Apparently it all started when somebody was trying to press fit a shaft into a hole that was too small. He lubed it up really well, but it just wouldn’t fit, and a buildup of gas pressure finally blew out an o-ring in explosive fashion.

They should make their name more descriptive. Like FAG Balls

A German friend of mine, Ekkehard, used to work as a domestic (US) distributor for F.A.G. He told me the story about when the company first established a web presence and created some company logo-wear for the site. Sales were anemic everywhere but the US and eventually the conversation that explained this odd

That’s not a cropping issue.

Clearly a hate crime. Just look at that graffiti.

Relax there Sir Sweeping Generalization Elitist the third...

The stretch from Laredo, tx to Monterrey, Mx. It’s the only stretch of highway where you might see bodies hanging from overpasses...

You can buy a defeat device that plugs into the factory wiring, or wire your own. It was lots cheaper than the gas guzzler tax, and still keeps manual transmissions close to CAFE-neutral.

A G8 and an SS in succession. I like your style.

Ya dont think she knows this? She is cruising in a Unicorn while he writes about them...

You’re right: you shouldn’t. However, if you theoretically can do so you are able to drive a manual everywhere. So it’s not about actually doing so, it’s about the ability to do so.

Oooof, I love that you drive a manual Chevy SS, but I have to cringe at the thought of anyone holding a car on a hill with the clutch. That is the first thing I was taught not to do!

Hear, Hear! I installed the skip-shift eliminator the day after I got mine!

Holding your car on a hill with the gas and clutch causes a large amount if clutch wear. Hill hold stops you from having an incident with the driver behind you that is unaware that manuals still exist. Yes, it’s not that hard to catch the car on hills with quick feet, but on a really steep hill, it’s nice to have.

Great post, Karen! Don’t forget, you’re also cooler than your son.

If the revs dropped fast in the ST, it’s definitely tuned. The rev hang is awful in the FiST, as I bought a tune solely to get rid of it.
