I don’t even have to see the autoplay videos because I’ve fixed my browser. But I just locked my work computer and a notification is on the screensaver about the thing playing, with an option to pause.

Deadspin’s bosses, turn this ridiculous shit off, it’s not making you money and it’s pissing off all your readers

God, I hope that "lock him up" chant burned its way into his insecure little facsimile of a soul and we get a torrent of rage tweets about it tomorrow. HOOK IT TO MY VEINS!

I appreciate the people suggesting AdBlock, uBlock, et al., but then the problem becomes half the site being broken if it’s tuned aggressively enough to stop that stuff. Last time I tried, embedded tweets didn’t fully show, I couldn’t comment, and I couldn’t click on certain things (like the “you may also like...”

MLB instructed the home team to wear alternate jerseys so the president is the only obvious white national in the stadium.

Yes, thank you. I’ve been continuing to visit the G/O sites because I like a lot of the writing and the comment sections (trolls and racists notwithstanding). But fucking hell has it gotten significantly worse over the last couple of months. Say it with me now, G/O:

Can you guys ask the venture capitalists to make articles take up less space? It’s kind of hard for me to watch both of the “recent videos” that started playing in two separate places when I’ve got four or five lines of text distracting me.

I wanted to take this opportunity to say that I am not going to continue reading Deadspin due to the management’s lack of concern for the user experience. These auto-playing videos with the sound on are too much. I’ve been a reader for nearly 10 years, but I can’t abide by such egregious lack of care for the product.

An argument could be made that Ertz should have started at CB over Dahlkemper with Lloyd slotting in at CM, but that feels like a needlessly offensive adjustment to begin a game with when there is already so much firepower up front.

Say what you will about Jill Ellis’s decision making, but not playing your 37 year old aging star for all 630+ minutes of game time was probably a pretty sound decision.

Tough to beat an 11th inning walk-off, but I thought Correa’s throw to nail LeMahieu at home in the 6th was his most important, most clutch and most skillful play of the game.

Well, of course! The guy who was mercilessly raping children and threatening to destroy the careers of anyone who got in his way was white a clean cut throwback to days of old!

So they draw the line on tee shirts but not rampant child abuse?

Not that I’ve ever played sports that earned myself or anyone else money, but I have played sports. And I really don’t think that, once you’re on the field you’re thinking about the economics.

Dunno, that’s a pretty basic one right there. You want to be salty and pissy and not even extend the courtesy of a handshake, then yeah, I’m fine with Sherman’s reaction. Sherman didn’t do the equivalent of throwing a fastball at someone’s head, he just said it motivated him. Nothing to see here.

Luke-warm take: It’s ok to be annoyed if a guy refuses to shake your hand before the game.

I like Richard Sherman - I don’t think he’s asking too much to have a respectful handshake before the game. Why not?

This will be Burfict’s 14th suspension in his NFL career, and his third for an illegal hit. After his ejection, the Raiders captain ran off the field blowing kisses to the booing crowd.

Sounds like perfect weather for a prestigious quadrennial soccer tournament!

“I believe it’s important to support our President whether he was your candidate or not,” Cameron told SI.com’s Grant Wahl.“
