Police shooting windshields is just their latest pushback against the calls for transparency.

The power for me comes from the fact that we have footage of mission control and that’s a room full of white men and this movie helps dispel any idea that only white men were working at NASA and helped make the missions happen and successful.

Which is easily just as immoral. Thanks for the clarification.

On Democracy Now there’s a video, where the dog’s mouth is covered in blood, and the “handlers” (hired goons?) clearly have no idea what they are doing. It’s an absolute shit-show, because these people are Native and apparently everyone just shrugs when you abuse them.

A friend of mine was out west already when the protests started. She joined them about two weeks ago.

The tribe wasn’t even asking for they to do that, just yet. They were asking for a chance to conduct in-depth studies to determine what exactly is at the site (how many remains, artifacts, etc.) - THEN come up with options. And yes, there are options - preserving the site, re-interment elsewhere, etc. People believe

They did this on a reservation legally owned and governed by the Sioux? Not that I’d expect the Federal Government to break their streak of failing to honor a single treaty with various Native American tribes, but I thought reservations were at least some space of dignity and autonomy for Native Americans. Just

I know this feeling. The feeling that if I’m good at it it’s not anything special. It’s not self-deprecating, it just is. I’m really glad these amazing women are finally being acknowledged for their accomplishments. It does wonders for the generations that follow.

I’m glad this movie has happened. I love that young people will understand how unlimited black people are and have been.

No one’s missed your point. What you seem to be missing is that the reason women don a burkini should be irrelevant in the eyes of the law. You can be both troubled by the idea that many Muslim women are conditioned into feeling as if their bodies are something that should be hidden from the world, AND be troubled by

But you aren’t all up in arms to strip nuns down. Either we all have religious freedom or no one does.

You presume much. Yes, there is moral component to conservative (not radical like the president convolutes) Islamic belief that encourages (outside repressive regimes) women to cover their bodies. But to assume the women are not able to find value in that religious tradution ignored their agency. It’s simplistic.

You don’t see the problem in combating Islam’s retrograde view of policing women’s bodies by policing what women can wear? If you don’t understand the absurdity of this law I don’t know what to tell you.

The police who enforce the laws on the beach wouldn’t know about my morals or beliefs about women in general. Or maybe they’d just presume my outfit was innocent because I’m white. Absolutely nothing about policing women’s clothing says women are free and equal to me, although that’s purportedly what they’re trying to

WHY are people STILL pretending that he has policies at all? His “policies” are weird vague promises, nothing more. He really has his slovenly fanboys convinced that he “runs businesses” when in reality he “runs” a cheesy empire built on the lie that he’s a successful “billionaire”, an empire that’s built on a

Goes to show you that some companies will do the least amount of work they can legally get away with.
