I wonder if/where Bloodborne’s Central Yharnam would have placed on this list. I still believe it to be one of the best ever designed introductory areas in any game.

Submitted for your approval, FFXIV’s Azim Steppe:

But why does that person need to be a man? Men can’t watch women report the news?

There need not be a male anchor, but Savannah and Hoda are not enough to carry the show. The dynamic of that show over the years has worked best when it had both a charismatic male anchor and a charismatic female anchor, and a supporting cast of whoever was best. Plus, it’s better for ratings; I don’t think that the

Why does there need to be a male anchor at all?

Esp. because of Lauer’s reputation, I watched him report on Charlie Rose and others and thought... why aren’t we hearing about Matt Lauer? The stories have been in the tabloids for years.

It wasn’t a great way that it was handled (never really are when public figures are terminated), but Ann Curry was actively BAD at her job. She could not stop herself from interrupting guests, concern trolling, and had almost no rapport with the audience. I didn’t like her in that role (though still watched), and I

Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus. :)

I’m glad to see that smug asshole get his comeuppence.

Hey NBC, I’m available. I have more charisma than he does. You will never have harassment issues with me. And I work for half of what you paid him.

Well it wouldn’t make too much sense if they fired him for appropriate non-sexual behavior

I’m finishing up the third book in Robert Galbraith’s (aka J.K Rowling) detective series. This is definitely the best of the three and I cannot wait for the fourth to come out.

I recently finished Susie Steiner’s Missing Presumed and went directly to the follow-up, Persons Unknown, which is even better. Lee Child’s investigative detail meets Tony Parsons’ flawed personal lives. I’m losing sleep over just one more chapter.

So many of us in the greys.

I just finished Throne of Jade, the second book in the Temeraire series by Naomi Novik. I really enjoyed the additional world-building that was introduced, though I was a little surprised at how much of the book took place on the voyage to China - I’d been expecting the majority of the story to take place at the

This week’s read is Children of Dune.
About once every two years for the past decade I tried to read the first one. I’m a sci-fi fanboy, but I always found Dune to be pretty meandering and self-indulgent.

This weekend, I finally started reading Ian Tregillis’ Alchemy Wars trilogy, starting with (obviously enough) book one, The Mechanical. It’s an interesting mix of fantasy, science fiction, and a sort of steampunk/clockpunk. I’m only 70 pages in so far, but I’ve liked what I’ve read up to this point.

Yeah same. He took a selfie with the lady and I when he was in Austin :heart eyes:

So happy that Bubs dressed up as Grunkle Stan, since that reminded me also that Gravity Falls existed and the Matt Chapman worked on it. As much as people bitched about 2016 at the time, at least we still had Gravity Falls then.

It’s on Netflix. It’s got 2 guys from the Inbetweeners, and I couldn’t get through 10 minutes of it.
