I mean, that’s super meanspirited and cruel, and reinforces some fun mental health stigmas to boot, but uh. Lawl, I guess. Sick burn, whoever you are, I bet you really helped the healing process for them and their five year old.

I’ve now seen this quote reported in 3 different places, but some how none of them mention the good Brooker news:

that vid was the first on i seen of this at the beginning of march that led me to all this taskmaster craziness, now im obsessed.

So true, I love this one from back in 2017.

Been watching Taskmaster since it started and it’s brilliant. I think it and Would I Lie To You? are the most consistently, genuinely hilarious panel shows out there. Also the sheer imagination required to come up with the range of tasks that Horne does... it’s amazing. Would highly recommend to anyone.

What is really funny about this show is how badly prepared the contestants on later series are.

The Yellow King is a monster with bread ears

I love it. I got into “Cats does countdown” a few years ago, watched all I could on YouTube since I live in the states. Then, over the end of December/beginning of January this year, I found the “Big Fat Quiz”es, and watched all them.

I love Taskmaster so much. It’s not often I’m in actual tears from laughing so hard, but this show consistently brings the gold. I’m a bit biased because I’ll watch pretty much anything either Noel Fielding or Joe Lycett/Hugo Boss are in, but think series four is my favorite so far. The team task involving the bathtub

THAT’S who Greg Davies is? I only knew him as the cringey, annoying principal from The In-Betweeners.

A great pick. Joe’s run is one of the more impressive physical feats in the entire series. Bonus points for your username.

Such an amazing show.  Alex Horne is an amazing comedian in his brilliant ideas, but also his subversive take on the straight man role.  Some of the best tv there is.
You linked the exercise balls, but not the operatic, emotional roller-coaster in the same episode, the “throw this potato in the hole” task? Genuinely

Nice to see this show get some well deserved stateside love. I’m only a recent convert (since they started putting episodes on YouTube), but it’s been a show I’ve evangelized about ever since to anyone who has even a passing interest in comedy/panel shows/British TV. Some of the funniest TV I’ve seen this year.

Every episode with Bob Mortimer is absolutely golden.

The original FF7 is one of my lifetime favourites, and admittedly a lot of that comes down to when I played it. I was still a kid, and I still remember the magazine advertisement that made it look like this ridiculously epic adventure. A friend lent me his copy on the last day of school before the Summer holiday, and

You’ve got me thoroughly hyped on this remake, though I’m afraid I’ll be waiting to play it as I just picked up the RE3Make last week (sorry Square-Enix, but Capcom will forever be my #1 1990s developer). I’ve heard very intriguing things about its plot, but it’s the promise of a tightly designed living space - a la

Hey hey!

It’s straight up blowing my mind that this article calls Generation Kill’s depiction of the US military as arrogant and unaccountable “unsettingly prescient”. Reminds me of that insane Aaron Sorkin quote that the world no longer cheers when they see American soldiers... because of Trump.

I only watched the first part of Show Me a Hero, but it was awful. Coupled with the praise for Season 5 of the Wire, I got the impression that many critics can’t be “objective” when it comes to Simon. I guess I should just watch the rest of these shows, but they don’t even sound interesting.

I can’t agree with the characters on Generation Kill being “exceedingly loathsome” (though, of course, that’s ultimately a matter of opinion). It’s been awhile since I’ve seen the show, but having also read the book, I think the main characters’ commentary and behavior (outside their military performance) is largely
