That's very sad to hear. Her shelf was one of my regular stops at the library when I was younger. I can't imagine how I would have gotten through middle school without her, Caroline B. Cooney and Joan Lowery Nixon. I'm comforted by the fact that she's finally found peace.

I found these last year and ended up watching all of them. I think there were only a handful of sketches that weren't completely awful with Tito being the only who is any good at comedy. But there are also some pretty good musical numbers. It's particularly fascinating watching Michael, who always alluded to

I assume it's more because of Matt Lucas than the character itself. Similar to why they brought back James Corden.

No particular opinion about the news. I'm just trying to figure out why The Daily Dot is being credited with the news when the article shows the Tweets sent out directly from the BBC.

I'm not sure about that. Stephen has always prioritized civility in his interviews. I remember many people being frustrated that he wasn't more aggressive even on The Colbert Report.

I think O'Reilly was probably the last person people wanted to hear from after this weekend but it was a good, serious conversation. Good for Stephen for holding his ground and pulling some concessions towards sanity from O'Reilly.

If I remember right, that was a pre-recorded package rather than a live performance.

They are. It's done by the Theatre on Film and Tape Archive through New York Public Library. It's only for research purposes and, from what I hear, they're pretty strict about that.

Don't forget he also played Skeletor in the Masters of the Universe movie.

Overall, it was a good show, but mainly because the shows were so good this year. The telecast itself seemed frenzied. The Ham4Ham bumpers were cute but that time could have been used to show some more of the awards (Best Book and Best Choreography got relegated to the commercial breaks?) or give the plays any

There are a lot of books I'd love to see adapted as a TV miniseries, the one that comes to mind first is The Shadow of the Wind.

There were animated TV versions of Wyrd Sisters and Soul Music. The animation's a bit rough and they obviously had to cut a lot out. But they're not bad overall and both feature Christopher Lee as Death.

I assume this is because the bookstore I used to work at closed. Because that was used the same way and for the same reasons described here.

I started watching The Great British Sewing Bee which is the sewing version of The Great British Bake Off. It's scratching that itch to see clothes get made that I've had since giving up on Project Runway. It's much more quaint but there's much less manufactured drama (not having commercial breaks helps a lot with

I'd also like to see the return of the musical, specifically musicals with actual performers. So many recent musicals have taken the approach of "Here's someone famous who is better at this than you'd think they'd be!" Whereas movie musicals used to be borne out of the talents of great performers.

That's a nice idea. But there also pictures where she, a person of Chinese descent, is dressing up as a Japanese woman and Thai woman.

I'm disappointed in that it would have been nice to have someone that high up in Republican leadership standing up to Trump. However, given my general dislike of Ryan, it's also become enjoyable watching his discomfort at having to condemn the things Trump says while still expressing support for him. I have no doubt

I mentioned this on WOT but I think it's appropriate to mention it here: John Oliver appeared on The Bugle for purposes of saying goodbye. The podcast itself if going on hiatus until September when it will be Andy Zaltzman and various guests, including Wyatt Cenac and his sister Helen who also hosts the Answer Me

Speaking of John Oliver — as should come as no surprise to anyone who's been paying attention, John is officially leaving The Bugle. It's taking a break and then will be back in September with a series of co-hosts, the most interesting sounding being Wyatt Cenac and Helen Zaltzman.
