It was a weekend of odd British screen musicals. Musicals are divisive in general and neither of these are going to convince people who don't like them to give them a chance. But they were both worth a look from me.

It sounds like it was still Bertie Carvil (aka - Jonathan Strange from Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell) who originated the role.
I have yet to see a fandom that doesn't have fringe elements. As internet devotion goes, having a well organized website seems incredibly mild. Compare this to stories about One Direction fans.
It's mainly from Neverwhere where he excellently played the Marquis de Carabas who has a Doctor-ish personality.
Nitpick - Moffat spoke to Doctor Who Magazine which is what BBC News is reporting from. And, as mentioned above, Neil Gaiman confirmed this years ago. Radio Times seems pretty convinced it was Chiwetel Ejiofor. I don't think it was Paterson Joseph because interviews have indicated that he was never asked and…
Wilton also played Shaun's mother in Shaun of the Dead. And was particularly enjoyable in another Russell T. Davies show, Bob & Rose. I keep looking for excuses to say "You there - gorgeous creature!" like she does, but alas, not yet.
Hmm… this is a tough one. I love a nice Scottish accent so I could go with David Tennant or Kelly Macdonald.
Someday I'll see Dominic Cooper's name an not expect to see Dominic West. Apparently not today, though.
Me too. I'm just going to assume anyone who doesn't have this for an answer hasn't seen it yet.
When I was in high school, I had to read it over Thanksgiving break for a report that was due on the first day back. That was a weird weekend. It was an oral report and I believe it consisted of an outraged listing of atrocities.
Finished Drown which is Junot Diaz's first collection of short stories. It consists of vignettes in the early life of Yunior, the main character in his other works. This means a lot of coming of age themes and more about his parents. It has the energy that attracted me to his other books but you can tell it was…
Is that still in the baseball section?
Maybe. It just seems like they usually at least try to cast a wider net on such an open topic.
I read Case Histories and loved it. I don't know why I haven't read the rest of them yet.
I haven't gotten into the e-reader thing. They don't sit right in my hands. But my library is really well stocked so I'm not worried about availability. (We actually have a Collected Works of Jane Austen somewhere in the house. I just didn't want to have to lug the whole thing around.)
Is it okay that I knew it because of the Platypus Brothers on Taz-Mania?
What an odd list. And how discouraging that out of the entire AV Club staff, only four people were able to come up with a list of recommended reading.
I didn't know he was going to be played by Jamie Parker. That could be interesting. It'll be nice to see him play someone who isn't a weasel.
It's okay, AV Club. We totally believe you know Jessica Williams and that she was definitely going to come to your party except something came up and now she can't.
I could only play Doom in God Mode so I think I missed out on the tension in the game. But I did enjoy the exploring and shooting things parts. I later read the book Masters of Doom and am at least able appreciate the technical achievement.
