This is what I was thinking. Part of the appeal of the Supra was the overbuilt engine and the Toyota reliability. Bringing BMW on board for engine design won’t strike any of those boxes.

Why would someone want to buy a Toyota with BMW reliability? Am I the only one missing the point?

Given Toyota’s inability to make anything attractive I do not have high hopes for the looks for this car.

I cringed the whole time that race driver guy was talking.

Dang the price of these things really gone up... I have a pretty loaded 2012 Accord Coupe V6 that was out the door 28,888 including all the fees and this just looks like a slower, smaller, one.

I guess punching a producer doesn’t seem so bad now, does it?

Thing is this article hints at no major repairs outside of normal maintenance. Try that in a BMW or Audi!

I’m not dis’ing cosplay, but I don’t see how it’s a suitable replacement for- oooohh!

Honestly, I think 1 horsepower per 10 lbs is about right. So, a 3000 lbs car should have about 300hp, and a 4000 lbs car should have 400hp.

I’ll just use my current car: A Subaru BRZ.

Stock: 200 HP/151 lb-ft at the crank.
My goal: 250 HP / 200 lb-ft at the WHEELS.

I think that would make me happy :)

Come on, dude. They’re all capable of accepting the “correct” drivetrain, but the Supra is still the real article and the others can’t match the experience it offers. That’s what you pay the premium for — the overall experience.

It didn't leave the factory with that goddamned wing attached to the roof!

They even put that shit on 60's and 70's cars which is infuriating. The original owner of a 70GTO would never have looked at a disgusting whore in a poodle skirt, especially since he'd have been high on acid and have 3 pretty loose hippy hitchhikers in the car with him.

I go to a lot - and I mean A LOT - of car shows and this kind of thing shows up everywhere. P161911 described it perfectly a couple of comments below.

This brings up a whole horde of things I see at car shows. I simply don't get it. Some middle-aged dude spends 50k restoring yet ANOTHER 57' Belair to join the other 500 at the show and then does the most cheesiest things to show it off. Dolls aside I've seen people place clip-on drive in platters complete with
