You lost me at “Tulsi Gabbard”. Her position on Assad and Syria are disqualifying IMO.

I started to do this for my daughter. I think I’ve sent maybe 2 emails (she’s 4.5). Haven’t secured an email address for my son yet (he’s 3). I think it’s a great idea, but it just never occurs to me to actually *do* it.
I think the sugar might melt (or rather, decompose) if used since they were blind baking at 375. (When they toasted the sugar, it was at 300.)
Smart invert works great ... for the most part. Two issues I had with it, which caused me to turn it off after a day:
2. I really don’t have a problem with a news organization “making itself a part of the news” when the President of the United States of America himself is going after them.
Because the amount of the tip is not standardized or mandatory, a server cannot reasonably expect to get 20% on every check (which I explain more in my response to COMTNDRVR, above).
My point is not that tipping isn’t expected (depending on the venue), but that the amount varies so widely that one cannot reasonably expect $y, where y is a fixed dollar amount or fixed percentage of the bill. So if I tip someone $2 on a $20 tab, I may be a cheapskate, but the server could not have reasonably…
I’m very much over the workplace mockumentary concept
they’re literally taking money out of a server’s pocket
Yeah, I think that’s exactly the reason why. Cutting into florets would make a better product (IMO), but it wouldn’t be as ‘satisfying’ for non-meat eaters, I guess, because it wouldn’t look like a main course. Though if one eschews meat, why does one need/want a dish that evokes a meat dish?
Honest question: Does the cellular structure of cauliflower prevent osmosis? Are the cell walls less permeable than meat cells?
Same here. Never ate/didn’t like it because it was served either raw (which is just eh) or steamed (ugh). Then had it at Girl & the Goat in Chicago - Roasted Cauliflower with Pickled peppers, Pine nuts, and Mint. It was amazing! Now I’ll roast it at home usually just with olive oil, salt and pepper. It’s great.
shredded brussel sprouts with shrimp/furikake stir fry
Pickled sprouts, you say. Hmmmm.... So, like little sauerkraut balls? I’m intrigued.
This is patently false. Roast or grill them (EVOO, S & P) and they’re great. Flash-fried are even better. You can even throw bacon in there, if you want, but certainly not needed. Dates also go well with sprouts. They’re just little cabbages, so raw (as in this salad) it’s basically a cabbage salad. IMHO sprouts have…
They also put constitutional amendments on the ballot this cycle, which would have taken power away from the executive and put it into the hands of the legislature. And they put the most milquetoast descriptions of said amendments on the ballot to try to lure voters into approving them. Fortunately, they both lost —…
And what point was proved? That you can have it your way at McD’s (which wasn’t a thing originally but has been a thing for decades)? That McD’s will gladly accept your dollar for a $0.02 slice of cheese?! Shit, it took the orderer longer to input the order than it did for the worker to “make” it. I’m sure McD’s would…
No - principles of federalism mean that the fed AG has no control over state AGs. So if, say, the NY AG were to charge DJT Jr., Erik and Ivanka with fraud and consipiracy under NY laws, there’s not a damn thing Whitaker (or POTUS, for that matter) could do about it.
Two things:
See, I don’t agree with that — unless the cap is pretty damn high. There is a substantial risk associated with working on a contingency basis, esp. if one does class action work: If one loses, one doesn’t get paid. And because no lawyer wins 100% of his/her cases, the compensation from wins helps to pay for the…
