I can definitely get after some Moons Over My Hammy. Or the Country Fried Steak n Eggs Sizzlin’ Skillet.
You know what really wasn’t exciting? My first presidential ballot, in 1984, cast for Walter F. Mondale. But four years of Reagan terrorized some people, including me, so if he could be stopped in his tracks maybe we could halt the rightward lurch and the whole rethinking of what government was for and what it could…
Regarding Amash, you are correct. The author seems to know very little about politics.
My first election was 2004. 2008 was great! We elected a progressive! Then by 2012 we all realized we hadn’t elected a progressive, so that was a meh win.
I’m just a bit older than him, closer to the upper limit of Millennial. So my first election was 2004. I really think that is a MAJOR break within my generation. If you were able to vote in 2004 instead of 2008, it really changes a lot of how you view things. I had the benefit of being one of the Deaniacs, and then…
I really wish Warren had run in 2016. Handing Bernie the mantle of “progressive leader” has really limited the progressive cause. Blogs like this one with editorial stances of boosting an incompetent elderly man over an actually accomplished progressive woman are infuriating.
Well I can’t speak for the “light” menu as I can’t imagine ever going to Denny’s for something healthy, but I can vouch for pretty much everything else! And I think they’re delivering for free right now, so if you think about it, it’d be stupid for you NOT to order dinner from Denny’s?
2000 - I remember sitting up until 3 in the morning because results still hadn’t come in, before I finally went to bed. When I got up, Gore had conceded, and the following weeks made it feel like the election had been stolen.
Lol - short-term regret is all part of the experience that is Denny’s! And there ain’t nothing in the world wrong with unlimited breakfast food.
I don’t give fuck all if the next president is exciting....I only care that they’re a Democrat.
Something to look forward to?? They have a pot roast melt for god’s sake. And breakfast all day that looks just like the pictures on the menu. Who doesn’t like Denny’s? Horrible people?
But what would snarky child bloggers write about then?
I’m becoming more and more convinced all these snarky bloggers haven’t been voting age for more than the 2016 election (if that). My first POTUS election was 2000, so I’ve gotten to experience crushing lows and soaring highs.
I like all the links they put at the end of Barf Bags to the effect of, “Let’s have Elizabeth Warren handle this crisis!” or similar sentiments...after pretty much ignoring her in favor of Bernie for the entire primary.
I’m a card carrying lefty pinko and nobody is as bad as Trump. Not even Ted Cruz.
I don’t even really know how to answer the question of what I think a random pseudonymous internet posting is supposed to accomplish.
