All kinds of correct. The only qualification that a woman running for President hasn’t had yet is being Vice-President. Abrams is smart enough to see that if that’s what it takes for America to finally vote a woman into office then she’ll do it.

As a mammal I am glad that people are voting for platypus to be the best bird. That’ll show all of those other birds.
I was wondering what Jezebel’s take on Stacey Abrams’s comments was going to be. All things considered I think this take is good. She realizes that her current plan of action is probably the fastest way to get her into the White House. Of all the bad options available to her, this is the one she is choosing.
Just to sample some of his political positions, Justin Amash is anti-choice, against most environmental policies, against the Affordable Care Act, against federal government expenditures (even in a pandemic), and he doesn’t think the US federal government owes anything to Flint, Michigan.
I’m also buzzed so as far as this math is concerned I think it checks out.
I think that by the very nature of the overall rareness of testing that all states are under-reporting deaths. How serious of an under-report is happening is what’s up for serious discussion.
Booo why did you remind me that this happened
The news about Texas starting to re-open on Friday (literally three days from today! We passed 1,000,000 confirmed COVID-19 cases today in the US but Texas needs to re-open!) is worrying to me because, as the second-most-populated state in the country, its sway is huge. Particularly among other red states. Not all of…
How much breading is there on (say) 3 oz. of chicken nugget v. 3 oz. of chicken tender?
True. I generally like 538's attempts to display probabilities in a realistic manner but there was a noted issue in 2016 of treating states as independent of one another. IOW that the vote in Michigan would have no impact on the vote in Wisconsin, or vice versa. With that display of information it looked like multiple…
I’m glad this is more informative than Gizmodo’s article on the topic.
our political elite just doesn’t think well, if at all, in probabilistic terms
One of the many things amusing about that tweet is that the Green Party is already in the process of nominating a candidate through its own primaries. They’re basically about 1/3rd of the way through assigning delegates. So if Ventura wanted to run as a Green candidate he’d have to do a lot of work really soon.
I saw that Matt shared this on Facebook so I am here commenting on Kotaku. Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us Sid.
Hi sorry there’s a long-standing Kinja troll who keeps on pretending to be someone else. Can you flag and dismiss the comment from the fake Dr. Lizardo?
Fellow Deaniac here (first campaign I ever contributed time and money to!) so I remember wholeheartedly supporting a candidate who went almost nowhere in the actual elections. Was a great learning experience: taught me that Democratic Party voters are sometimes just looking for the blandest option they can find on the…
(this comment thread not at all brought to you by Denny’s, I promise)
This catalog of events sounds familiar.
So after your comment I closed this tab and then I opened a Denny’s tab to look at the current pickup and delivery options and in short that was my retail therapy today.
Ooh pot roast melt. Also a valid option. But I like unlimited pancakes because if I’m going to eat at Denny’s I might as well really regret it.
