I agree. It's like when we stopped calling Suzanne Crazy Eyes. Same effect.

Third. Mors Praematura? She tased her.

If I were to describe this episode in one word, it would powerful. The power of loyalty; the power of greed; and, yes, even the power of love, as cheesy as that may sound.

Bit late, but a couple of comments.

Yeah, what the hell was that? It was a terribly written speech. It even sounded forced.

And that's why it was cheap.

Another thing that bothered me was the POI asking Reese why Shaw wasn't his girlfriend. Knowing that the writer's process for this episode was, "what if you met a character on Person of Interest?" She's using Walter as very ineffective audience surrogate. POI has never, not once, hinted at the possibility of a

"Person of Interest stands alone and is incomparable!"

I have a few thoughts on this episode, but first, Alexa, I mostly agree with your review in that this was a villain story. Your analysis was beautiful and compelling to read. Much more compelling than the episode itself, let me tell you. So, thank you.

Hey, I actually liked that! Very much. I mean, yeah, it was a feel-good episode, but it was exactly what the show needed this early on. You cannot raise the stakes every episode. Although, I agree with Alexa in that it WAS shallow, but it didn't bother me much. I like the shifting dynamics between all characters.

Root: "What you taught her. That humans must make their own choices. You have to figure it out yourself."

The cool thing about Root and Shaw and their dynamics is, how much fan service can it be when this is how Root has ALWAYS treated Shaw? It's their thing, it's part of this particular character dynamics. So I won't call it fan service. Also, their interactions always serve a purpose. There is always a reason behind

Wow. Um, this is the first time I've seen someone say Amy Acker is not good at acting.

First, I didn't care much for the actress playing Claire either. You needed a good actor in this role because they'd be carrying much of the weight of the episode. The kid didn't have the chops to make me care about her. Thankfully, this show is SO good that it made me care about the kid's future with one single

Um, of course, opinions vary, but I believe there are a few episodes here that aren't as necessary. I always say that any smart TV viewer can pick it up after the season 1 finale. Sure, there are a few enjoyable episodes in season 1, but it's by far the weakest. So, I'd skip everything until the season 1 finale, which

Oh! My manners! Great review, Alexa. Welcome to POI TV Club!

Yeah, pretty standard POI of the week, which is typical for most Person of Interest season premieres, save for The Contingency back in Season 2. Then again, Amy Acker was the POI in the 1-2 premiere of season 2, so of course they were very strong.

So, care to speculate what identities Root chose for these guys? I keep thinking about Root's Augusta King. She actually joined the FBI, even went on missions as an FBI agent. I wonder if maybe the Machine was having her create that identity in preparation for this.

It's like Root told Control when Control asked her to give her access to the Machine, "it'd like giving a child the keys to a jet. Irresponsible." That's what Greer is doing. Except Samaritan is not a kid per se, but there are so many things she doesn't know yet.

Let's not forget how they used the lyrics to Daughter's "Medicine" in Death Benefit. These guys are brilliant.
