Had a 1960 Valiant as my first car. Love them.

I would not trust a for profit company to operate a reactor safely. The potential damage they could do is frightening. And I would support there use in public power generation.

That would be terrifying.

I had a 60 Valiant that had a slant-6 with a push button automatic. Not powerful but never had issues with the motor.

That would be more palatable. I wonder if the car reports driving habits to the insurance side of their operations. I would absolutely expect it to.

As with Tesla’s, check your insurance rates. $3k a year for a Model 3 is a bit much. I am on the far side of 50 and haven’t had a ticket in 15 years (knock on wood). That was a shock. So much for TCO.

No, at least not what I consider reliable. My former 2001 Tundra only ever needed routine/preventive maintenance over the 18 years I drove it. My 2017 F-150 3.5L ecoboost has needed 2 sets of cam phasers in 5.5 years of ownership, and I suspect it had another set done before I bought it used with 12k miles. Lots of

And the religious folks love him. Baffling..

None of these are great coupes. One or two may be good coupes but none inspire anything other than a nap.

No argument from me.

I think the X5 is the only BMW crossover/SUV thing that is attractive. Not the M version though.

This. Nice PR move I guess but a horrible use of taxpayer dollars. Maybe if they get to $150k or so they might make sense.

Hard pass. That motor is a plumbing nightmare in an F-150 (I own one) and would be worse in the Mustang. Too many tubes and coolant lines.

I second the Corolla Hybrid. The wife and I are looking for something reasonably priced, dependable and affordable. A entry level Corolla Hybrid would fit the bill nicely.

To me buying a VW meant getting a nice interion in exchange for reduced (perceived or real) reliability.

Very good point.

I did the I-285 tour of Atlanta back in the late 80s trying to find a date’s address on “Peachtree”. There are about 100 streets in Atlanta that have the word Peachtree in them it seems. I eventually found it but it was embarrassing.

They are still a start-up and working through issues that all start ups have. It takes a ton of money to get a “car” company off the ground. EV or not. As they ramp up production they will cut the loss per vehicle and eventually become profitable assuming they make it.

I loved my 1960 Valiant. Still miss it. I won’t claim it is a beauty though.

Probably need to look (listen) for cam phaser rattle on the 6 cylinder ones.
