Wowzers. Coming for August Wilson?  Is that necessary? I was lucky enough to meet him after a performance of Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom when I was in my early teens in the early 90s. That dress is hilarious.  I once went as a slutty tampon for Halloween, and it’s still my favorite costume ever.

Yeah, no. Sure, periods can be acceptable to acknowledge as a normal part of human biology. But curled up in a ball in a flop sweat because of cramps, or waking up in a mess of your own blood, or totally soaking a pair of jeans with one sneeze isn’t and will never be glamorous AF.

I can see why the producers were afraid that they would get negative feedback about that dress, like maybe they were afraid that people would think Manila was making fun of periods. However, they could have easily given Manila a chance to explain the look in the voiceover that plays during the runway, where the queens…

Wow... had this come down the runway, I think I would have been blinded by how BRILLIANT this was for that challenge.
