I don’t think so. If you look through prior decades you’ll see a lot of folks either not getting disagnosed at all or getting misdiagnosed into “garbage bag” categories. The understanding of ASD has gotten deeper.

Agree - though I will point out that there’s a huge crisis in Direct Care/Support Professional staffing levels for institutions that work with folks at the severe end of the spectrum. Thanks to 40+ years of neoliberal “small gubmint” / means-testing thinking, county/state $$ have been thin on the ground. States that

Great choices!

Fair enough.

If you have $300B in net worth, banks give you money for free or close enough to it (you’re earning more on interest from investments than the bank might charge in interest).

If you have $0 in net worth (~50% of Americans), congratulations, you get payday loans, 29.99% interest credit cards.

A couple of other maybe titles:
1. Metropolitan - Whit Stillman’s first movie isn’t explicitly about the holidays, but it provides the backdrop for the plot
2. Croupier - the movie’s third act takes place over Xmas
3. Hi-Life (not the recent space prison one, this is a 1998 “romantic dramedy”)
4. Strange Days (if you

The folks saying they don’t like how they don’t like “the political stuff” in a show about... how hard it would be to run a society when close to 50% of the population drops dead at once? How do you not make that political?

Yorick’s asshattery is kinda the point of the character, as 355 says to him a couple of episodes

Batchman is the poor tech who gets stuck executing mission critical chron jobs on the server at night when the automated daemon fails.

IIRC in “The Dark Knight” (the comic) it’s a bit inconsistent. He takes one or two bullets from the Joker but is back on horseback (no I’m not making that up) not that long after. In the 80s I remember some versions of his suit (in the main comic) have bullet-proof or bullet-resistant layering. In Burton’s films his

Can the show just be webcam footage of a different person playing Alien: Isolation and crapping their pants every week? I would watch that.

The Dark Horse comics were interesting (esp the further they went from the films). There was a series where the xenomorphs were in some kind of civil war, another where queen jelly

I’m really excited to see a post-Sense8 JMS tackle this. That show was just so wonderful and optimistic on so many levels. I hope he can bring that spirit into a new B5.

My only note to JMS is to please let the sound mix get a little “thiccer.” I really loved the show but half the reason folks felt it “looked” cheap

Sadly I think the world is in the state that B5 predicted.

Crusader had a ton of potential but oh boy there was too much cheese.

We just rewatched B5 last year (my spouse’s first time). A fascist works to undermine an election on Earth and install himself as dictator, while spouting xenophobic rhetoric; megacorps are playing earth factions off against each other; the various worlds are too busy bickering over territorial wars to see the larger

Great point!

That’s a good point!

Hey, no love for Stardust or Mirrormask?

Yeah, I’m just questioning the logic, but the list is solid.

Hmmm... would Texas Chainsaw Massacre not count as a slasher movie?

I feel like the Mule (in Foundation) is his attempt to deal with this side of human nature.
