Earl Warren may not have been the most brilliant jurist to sit in the Chief's chair, but he was a damned fine administrator, and he possessed such a fundamental sense of decency, fairness, and justice. I wouldn't want all nine justices to be like him, but I like the Chief Justice to have that talent and perspective.

David Souter, then recently-retired, gave the commencement address at my college graduation. Though I found his speech very interesting (he touched on his idiosyncratic judicial philosophy and New York Times v. Sullivan, among other things), my family and friends were soooooooooooo bored.

He did get a fitted robe, after all.

All About Eve, In the Loop, AND The Brave Little Toaster? Marvelous.

Wow, all sorts of great threads and I have to run out for an hour or so. But before I do, let me just create a

"Silence! I concur."

Heh, I'm glad that Marah asked about Little Big League. It's a fun movie (holds up better than its contemporary Angels in the Outfield, though I have a soft-spot for Rookie of the Year too), and it's not every team that gets a movie for posterity. My hometown Padres sure never did.

I'm glad I read this interview today because it gives me a real positive feeling about the show and its ending. No drama, no bad vibes. Just smart, talented, funny people and a series going out on its own terms. Futurama deserves that.

HA! I had no idea that the formula in "The Prisoner of Benda" was real, let alone that three Ph.Ds were on the writing staff. That's marvelous.

The A.V. Club
It's never too late to rip off a classic idea.

I was so happy when he reappeared in Season 3 - there's some magnetic about his weaselness (weaselosity?). I loved when he finally lost his cool and freaked out in the season finale.

Hey Tony, did you hear what @avclub-022199896b1f52952c180b60caa681bd:disqus said? He asked how many damn ads for the show made it look like Paulie was going to get wacked at any minute.

Not laughter . . . it's more of a twitter.

Damp palms run in my family.

Space Cowboys 2: Every Which Way But Space (co-starring Ham the Chimp!)

Ranks alongside the legendary "cut-to-Franklin" as the best puppet reaction shot ever.

Heh, you know, I'd be disappointed that these wonderful-sounding projects never happened, except that the films they did make instead were just as wonderful!

I believe that much-anticipated date is December 20! (December 6 limited.)

I AM ASHAMED. Who am I, Ted Turner? I have corrected this sin.
