Right, it’s a thing to compare the highest trim S and X with say, a C-Class/5-series or even an E-Class. I would not put it against something like an S-Class, and certainly not against Bentley/Rolls/Maybach.

That’s a fair point, the trims are only for equipment, not for drivetrain.
Maybe the Australians would know, I’m not sure if the 323hp Toyota Aurion was ever sold as a manual, but it was the most powerful FWD production car for a while.
The Skyactiv-X is supposed to be aroung 180hp, same as the old 2.5l.
Toyota offers the manual on top trim Corolla Hatch, so why not Mazda.
