It doesn’t sound that way at all. It sounds horrifying and stressful. Since i had my daughter a few years ago, I’ve been through severe PPD and anxiety, and have had to have mental health teams visit me at home, see a psychologist and psychiatrist and had 3 hospital stays for it. And countless meds. And I just feel so

I do too. My mom has lupus and I have chronic kidney problems that requires medicine and doctors visits every other month. Money and how I’m gonna pay is always at the back of my mind. I know this sounds incredibly “first world problems”-y but it sucks being chronically ill and having to decide if you can afford your

I’m an RN, and I do think of you guys every now and then and wonder how you cope at all without universal healthcare. To have that worry in the back of your mind all the time. I pay $60 annually for ambulance cover for my family, but all hospital treatment (inc. pathology, scans, drugs) is free. I think I would just

Don't forget our fucked up healthcare system. And our legal system. And our justice system. The best way to survive is simple...be rich.

It shocks me every time I find things out or am reminded of facts like this about your country. This, and paid sick leave, paid annual leave, compassionate leave, carer’s leave, and compulsory superannuation. How do you actually survive??

Damnit! They took the Facebook page down (the link was in the article above) but to summarize, it was a lot of people going
“Jamie, look out behind you!” and “what stops a good baby with a gun...?”

I was going to post the link but some poor sport took it down. Damn!

I think It’s been yanked. I was having a grand afternoon reading all of the lolz on it until suddenly it came up as missing. :(

Really? Do you have a link? The shittier parts of my personality are kind of curious to see. I'm a bad person....

Probably would be a good plan not to refer to your deadly weapon as a “toy” you’re going to “play with” if you have A FUCKING CHILD.

Your right to be shot by your minor child apparently outweighs your need for common sense. I’m one of those funny liberals who is in favor of the 2nd amendment - but I’m also in favor of common sense. Apparently, what I think of as ‘common sense’ (not leaving your gun where your minor child can find it and end up

She should be charged with child endangerment. Kid not on booster seat while she’s driving, gun just lying around, loaded.

Why is SHE labeled the victim here? Obviously, her son is the victim.

I’ve said this before, but why aren’t these people ever charged with child endangerment? Shouldn’t they lose their children and guns, and be investigated by CPS? A misdemeanor doesn’t seem like it will do much to protect the children.

“...any decision on the filing of criminal charges will not come until after we speak with the victim”

Irony thy name is Jamie Gilt.

This will make a much better story for Gun-Toting Toddler than the time I tossed a dinner fork at my brother and accidently javelin-ed his foot.

I would say that hopefully she learns something from this, but, considering she thought it was a good thing that her 4 yo son would get “jacked up” to handle an object whose danger he couldn’t comprehend, that seems unlikely.

can’t wait to hear the NRA’s spin on this one
