People excited to see one sequel? That’s possible. Two sequels? There’s an outside chance. But four sequels? I’d like to see that!
I could understand one sequel - first one was a big blockbuster success - maybe two but four seems way too many for the amount of story you can get just from setting and pretty 3D CGI. Pandora is pretty but not pretty enough for another 4 films.
Isn’t it fascinating? Avatar is the ultimate “anti-classic” film: a film that was enormous when it came out (even adjusting for inflation, it’s the second-highest grossing film of all time at the box office), but which almost totally disappeared from public awareness or consciousness within merely a year or two of it…
Nooooooooooope.
Hopefully some money went into the writing. Avatar 1: such a snoozefest with one dull, predictable cliche after another is paraded in front of the viewer.
Even though seemingly everyone on the planet saw the first one and it’s been a couple of years, you never hear literally (yes I mean literally not figuratively) anyone say “Oh I can’t wait to see the sequel to that”.
Katherine Heigl, on craftsmanship
Cool contribution to the discussion man.
Those anonymous quotes are all from her nemesis SJP, right?
Kim Cattrall was like the female Bruce Campbell back before SATC, a B-list actor you’d be excited to see because she did every role with memorable game gusto.
She is gorgeous with brown hair. Why does everyone want to be blonde?
Working actors never get the credit they deserve.
I loved it when I was 16. Looking back, however...
Come on — guilty pleasures can be necessary, and SATC actually had some pretty decent writing and strong performances by Cynthia Nixon and others.
But the How Did This Get Made? podcast about Mannequin 2 is a classic.
Mannequin 2 exists, just with a different cast. And it is unwatchable.
No Meshach, no peace.
Also, even nerds!
“This franchise made her and let’s be frank, it’s all she is really known for.”
