Does the iPad still have the one single speaker? Has got to be the most annoying thing about my iPad 2.

The shutdown is within the charms menu.. I didn't find this overly cumbersome (and how often do you shutdown a computer these days?)

The only response I have to comments like this is this: TRY IT. Static images don't do this UI justice.

Sure, but in an industry attempting to create viable alternatives to IC engines in anticipation of a climbing oil price, the innovation isn't in creating new sources of energy, but in creating the ideal energy retention system (aka batteries).

Cause then you'd be stuck with buying two computers instead of a single one that can serve all your needs.

While I want to see innovation from PC makers as much as you Sam, the fact of the matter is that an aluminium alloy gives engineers the ability to minimize thickness and weight, at a reasonable cost. Aluminium alloys are typically silver in colour. For those of us with lesser eyesight high contrast keys will typically

#corrections The Bloomberg article says that HTC and Microsoft are partnering up to train salesmen.

A judge's job is to apply written laws to the best of his or her ability. If the patent system is flawed, blame the politicians, not the judge.

An air-conditioner works by circulating a fluid (in this case air) past a cooled solution to transfer heat away from the working fluid (air). The high energy demand, and the ingenuity of AC, is in cooling that solution.

I disagree. I'm holding off buying a tablet because I can't stand the thought of owning yet another device. What I want is a tablet that I can use as easily as an iPad, with long battery life, yet still be able to dock it and have the power of a laptop.

So, what we want is an OS that doesn't complicate things with a simple UI, yet that gets out of our way to do advanced work the way we are used to. We want a clean UI with a design language that stays true to its digital roots, focuses on beautiful typography and features useful, informative animations...

Cirque du Soleil is mostly made up of Canadians, not Frenchmen. It's based in Montréal.

To be fair, most of the light american beers that are popular there are probably classified under "bottled water" ;)

"Even better, hydrogen is simple and clean to produce"

I agree and disagree. While I do think that the platform needs to be updated at a more aggressive pace, the feature war between platform is really something that impacts us phone geeks.
