This is why OEMs create and fine-tune their own drivers, the interfaces between the hardware and software. It's possible that Android at its core is less efficient than iOS, but that would have nothing to do with the fact that it is designed for a wide range of devices.

I don't know what you're going on about... The RT tablet on size alone competes directly with the iPad, whereas the Pro competes with the MBA in terms of capabilities and mobility. If they were priced the same, why would anyone buy an iPad over a Surface Pro? (and I own an iPad!)

Very well written Sir, thank you.

I'm going on vacation soon. Is the Playbook, at 99$, a good idea to backup and review photos during the trip?

"Other device makers don't bother to bundle products with quality accessories." Not necessarily, no. But Sony and Samsung both offer some decent in-ear headphones with their products that are infinitely better than the old white Apple ones.

Also, the sun revolves around the Earth, dinosaur bones were placed there to trick us and snakes are evil devil creatures.

Well written. That said, what strikes me as different this year from any previous year is that the new iPhone doesn't have any new feature that sales people can use to lure consumers in its direction. Siri's novelty is gone, the display is the same resolution (and smaller) than most equivalent competitors, everyone's

You're not alone. hmm... Wikipaedia? Actually, looking it up, that pronunciation is correctly carried over to the French webpage, Wikipédia. ...and I suspect the same is true for Spanish and Italian.

They sell "signature" version of third party laptops and desktops that remove all the bloatware and run a clean version of Windows, on top of all the peripherals and other Microsoft hardware.

Based on Microsoft's Surface spec sheet, both tablets have 2x2 MIMO antennas.

So.. It's like the 2x2 MIMO antennas that Microsoft announced as part of its new line of Surface tablets?

You know what's absolutely worse than people that put a thick, ugly case on a beautiful phone? People that leave the protective peel-off film on their electronics, usually with air bubbles throughout, and significantly numbing the touch response on a touch screen.

Have to agree with the final statement. I love my NEX-3, but it's display is no replacement to an optical viewfinder, particularly for focusing (so many ruined out-of-focused shots...). Peaking helps, but is far from sufficient in many cases. That said, it's small, light and cheap, so it really depends on what's

Just out of curiosity, do the iPhone events typically introduce software upgrades, or is this strictly about the hardware? (seeing as the iOS event was held separately already).

We know very little about WP8. The only portion of it that's been divulged are the OEM and developer oriented features.

Definitely Nokia and WP8. For all the leaks in the past few days, there is so much that remains unknown, particularly the user oriented features of WP8. Can't wait to see what they've been working on!

Haven't you ever felt like you just wanted to grab your laptop screen off its base to just browse the web or watch a movie while lounging or travelling? Hybrids like these let you choose between the efficiency of a keyboard+trackpad, and the portability of a tablet for the situation.

Urgh. Why can't Apple use its presence to help create an open standard that the entire industry can use, rather than a proprietary protocol that will just create more devices, more waste and an added licensing cost.

You would then have to refill with water much more frequently however.
