Middling seems a little harsh, no?  They’re currently competing for third place with Ferrari.  Middling would be Aston, Alpine and Alpha Tauri.

I think you’re right - they look closer to the Ghibli’s design than the original G70.

Zero business case.  They’d need something they could actually sell and make money on and, while this would be awesome, it wouldn’t do either of those things.  

Same with Latifi.  He and Stroll seem like genuinely decent guys despite coming from fabulous wealth.  Mazepin seems the stereotype.

The best thing is that Mazepin is technically 21st in points out of a 20 driver lineup.  Robert Kubica filling in for Kimi finished 14th and 15th in his two starts whereas Mazepin’s best are 14th and 17th, placing him last.

Autocross is fun if you appreciate the competitive aspect of it. If you want a lot more wheel time in a similarly safe environment, I recommend checking out SCDEs. I think they’re both fantastic. From what we’ve now heard on the updated GR86, it is a perfect evolution of the previous car, one of which I owned in BRZ form. What were its primary shortcomings? Torque dip, could use more power and could use better tires (was only available on Primacy at the time).

As a Miata owner, the Miata.  With 200hp, it would be about perfect.

Agreed - RE71Rs turned my Miata into an absolute monster on SCDE and AutoX courses.  Good rubber makes a huge difference.

Same. We have two manual cars that I can drive and one automatic that she can drive. When I needed to buy a new kid-hauler, even though it was available with a manual, I chose the automatic so she’d have another vehicle to drive in case hers was in the shop or something.  It didn’t make sense to have a third manual…
