4x4, manual, interesting color, clean body, useful vehicle. I can’t see any reason this would not be a good price. Buy it, use it for a few years, sell it if your needs ever change, or just keep it lying around as an extra vehicle!

Damn straight, that’s a nice price! Even like the yellow! Clean-looking and low mileage and a not-insane price. Seller could probably ask more and get it in this alternate-reality.

Is that not a model 3? Given the cost of batteries leading to higher prices, would you be willing to buy a $45k Accord EV or does it have to be the same as ICE at ~$28?

Still don’t you think they should have done better on something they intended to display?

Prototype Ferraris are built buy hand and they look amazing. Why can’t Elon hire people with better skills?

Who knew the EV breakthrough could have simply been small cars?

The production models have pretty poor build quality, even 22 models.  it’s improving a bit on the gaps, but the cheap plastic and wiggly interior parts are still there.

While your image is clearly terrible craftsmanship, this vehicle is an early prototype, build predominately by hand. I am happy to criticize Tesla, but I’ll criticize a production-model

It’s unfair to pick apart a prototype for its specific issue related to non-serial build quality.  General issues and serial build quality will be enough to pick it apart when its time.

“It shows the Wrangler, in both two-door and four-door trim, as the most-marked-up car in twenty four states — nearly half the country, for those of you who didn’t ace your fourth-grade geography tests.”

According to the Energy.gov website, cradle to grave carbon emission for BEV’s are half as much as the same ICE vehicle using the average US grid for charging. The carbon savings go up to about 90% with a renewable focused electricity sources.

I’m not exactly sure what Ford’s contingency plan is if the Lightning flops. Give up? Blame us?

Even still, it has no business being worth 67K. You can get a brand new diesel truck for that price that is far better than this ever was

Part of the hype around 2007 GM diesel trucks is that in 2008, they were saddled with all sorts of emissions. If you want to tune, or have a super reliable long hauler, a 2007 is pretty much the best GM you can find. As you pointed out, they could have bought the GMT-900 platform and still had a pre-emissions truck.

Yes, if you have good enough credit to qualify for the Ford loan you can probably get a better rate by getting it yourself. You might have to deal with some shenanigans from the dealership though because of the inventory crunch.

Sorry, I choked a little after reading “as low as 4.99%”. Most CUs have 3.75 or thereabouts for the 73-84 month tier.

Amen! - The owner of a 2015 TDI Sportwagen.

Tires have come a long way.

C&D’s tests of the 2022 Kia Carnival and 2022 Honda Civic resulted in 70-0 stopping distances of 186 feet and 170 feet respectively, so these heavier EVs stopping in shorter distances don’t seem to be making your case.

First of all, every single one of these heavy EVs has every safety system already baked in because of the higher overall cost. They have emergency braking, collision avoidance and lane centering as standard. Thus, they are better at avoiding hitting other obstacles than the average vehicle around them.
