I would be interested to understand why they retained the factory manual? Was it just beacause it was an easy interface for the sake of time? With the power band and peak RPM of the motor, there really isn’t a true need for shifting. I like the idea of retaining a transfer case and can see the use for low range for

Used car dealerships have been offering warranties on old-ass used cars for a long time.

I’m torn on this one. The Element is super reliable and a fantastic formfactor. $6900 today is like $4k in 2019-market-dollars and I would like to think this is a good deal at $4k, thus at $6900 it should be as well, even though I am very resistant to accepting this “new normal”. In this particular car, I would have

If you replace a clutch early, you can often get away with very minor flywheel resurfacing and you also have the very-important planning ability on your side. If you wait for your clutch to take a dump, you will be without transport for at least a day if the shop has zero-wait. If you replace it proactively at

We will see the EPA numbers, but considering it’s power and weight and that most users will be charging it off of the grid which in most cases is powered by natural gas and coal...I don’t see progress. Not at all.

Impressive... there is only 1 place to go!

I guess this ties into your “most friction-free route” point, but if traffic’s awful, I’ll take detours just to try and keep moving.

I can’t call a vehicle that uses 9k lbs of natural resources a win for the environment. This is better than an F350, but that’s like saying Pol Pot is better than Hitler.

This is essentially the Rav4 Prime’s model! Its an awesome vehicle, 40mi of range is enough to do most/all of a normal person’s drive and it gets roughly 40mpg on ICE. Even on Sun and Fri when my daily mileage is 200mi(2 charge opportunities), its not that much fuel; the other 5 days its near-zero fuel

This is the first EV that would actually be better as a fucking diesel.

Not really. The EV Hummer can only tow 7500 pounds where my F350 can tow 12500. And my F350 is 2000 pounds lighter.

I really don’t understand why this is so much worse than so many of the cars we claim to love on here.

You can afford anything on a 96mo loan!

rediscovering things that have been true about the Wrangler forever.

ntil you take it through mud or sand, or go uphill and the transfer case overheats

I hate the snowflake style. Its making its way into so many cars: VW, Jeep, etc. I have VW’s version on my alltrack. I just want 5-6 spokes with sizeable voids in them to make them easy to clean

So what about canoes, paddle boats, row boats, kayaks and un-powered barges.... are those not boats?

Also, again, the cutting of your wiring harness. So frustratingly improper. They make an adapter for peanuts that preserves your factory setup!
