CT needs to cut the shit with its insane gas taxes

a connection between an overinflated sense of capability and strength (both in the car and the driver) and a predilection towards drinking and driving?

7 trucks, 2 bro machines

The taco, GMs, and Ram are all on the top-selling list of 2020 as well so I wasn’t jumping to conclusions on those but the WRX?! Thats a low volume niche car. The only conclusion to draw is the owners are more likely to get caught for DUI

she didnt even have to move

Mercedes,

It fits some people’s financial situation. For some its easier/only possible to deal with 1 monthly payment. A surprise repair bill would bankrupt them. Leases have maintenance included, under warranty, and generally newer so they should result in fewer issues.

Couple that with increased average fuel economy, it would have to approach $6/gal to impact consumers in the same way

I can see a ranger or a turbo diesel Colorado able to tow 7500 over short distances without much of an issue on the regular

You can fit skis in the gear tunnel of the rivian r1t

Your better off renting a truck twice a year than spending the money on tax and fuel for a truck in general...

I believe you are looking at the wrong spot. It would make sense that he took the off-ramp(exit 39) on the pike headed to i-95 north and rt 30. It is actually a pretty tight turn there and the road is utter garbage. Its tough to take that at more than 40mph in a car with good handling because of road conditions. There

I saw one of these in a garage on the way to visit my parents yesterday. It looked great!

I hope rivian succeeds. They seem to have designed 2 vehicles that have a strong market segment while also having great tech. I hope they are able to ramp up production and build out their distribution

Overhanging the back wouldn’t be a problem as long as the rails can still interface with the box in that position - they are adjustable but not infinitely-so. In terms of salt: more accumulates than you would think when driving in a snow storm, I’d rather keep them fully out of the salt.

and how long are skis these days anyway? would they fit in the gear tunnel. the gear tunnel is 65" long.

My Thule box would be too long to go on the bed and in clamp style racks skis tend to get caked in salt which corrodes bindings and dulls edges, not to mention they are exposed to theft. With ~$10k in skis at any given time, I want them out of sight

Just because it doesn’t work for your use-case doesn’t mean it can’t be used as a truck.

enough to justify the extra fuel consumption ... From this perspective an EV truck is more attractive to me.

how much larger is it than the rivian and does that extra size actually get you anything???
