That was actually something I really liked. I never actually considered that a QTE because it's pretty much the core game mechanics to counter these things. That's why QTES really should involves consistent design.

QTEs don't have to suck. They also don't have to be life-and-death situations. When they're basically "press this to not restart the cutscene", they're terrible. In fact, when they're in a cutscene to begin with, they're bad. To make them good, they need to be optional, they need to be in the standard gameplay, and

I hate QTE's.

Easily the best QTE to ever grace a video game.

The whole thing about the terminator raising Sarah Connor is what makes it different enough to want to see it actually. I want to know how and who sent the T 800 that far back.

Yeah, so far I think only Shadow of Mordor remotely fit that bill. Everything else sounds pretty typical.

It's definitely reflective of a much different branding approach to that era - when it was competing with the N64, and other machines that were perceived as "toys", before the adult/older gaming market was as established as it is. They kind of took a hybrid approach between a colorful Nintendo design and a more mature
