I do believe Marsellus Wallace, my husband, your boss, told you to take me out and do whatever I wanted. Now I wanna dance, I wanna win. I want that trophy, so dance good.

Hey, I just read and wrote up the newest 33 1/3 book “Koji Kondo’s Super Mario Bros. Soundtrack” for the O-Deck so go read it, yeah? It is a book that will make you like all the things you like a little more and so far has not been discussed elsewhere in the Kinjaverse.

My job selling stuff on the internet for a Japanese company has turned into a crash course on 70s and 80s anime- we got in a couple of boxes of LPs and they are all soundtracks for stuff like Space Runway Ideon and Delinquent Girl Detective and so on. Kenji Kawaii, but Maison Ikkoku. So in addition to being awesome,

I just did, shared to the Observation Deck. Thanks again. I am super pleased that Journey is coming into vogue again with the reboot but there is something truer to the game in your raw take over this (inarguably enjoyable) replay-to-review MP post,

Would you mind if I posted your Journey piece to the O-Deck some time?

Luke, I love the vinyl posts. Make them a regular thing, please.

I really, really loved Bedlam. Bedlam is what happens when you write a superhero comic after the gloves come off. How far you can go when you don’t have a franchise to tarnish. Somebody once called it “The Greatest Joker Story Never Told.” Wait, that was me.

The Hohokum soundtrack was like $12 on LP and not only is it gorgeous but it came with a free download of several hours of game music mp3s. There’s also a 2LP picture disc of the Journey soundtrack coming this fall.

Also The Long Halloween is great, maybe Loeb/Sale’s best, and Knightfall is a piece of unreadable garbage. So there’s that.

I am on the waiting list for artists to adapt the manga. It will probably never come to pass- I’m not holding my breath- but it makes me feel nice inside to know that it is a possibility. Some day? Some day.

Spoiler Alert: Khal Drogo is a super-rapist. You say “legitimately romantic,” I say, “Stockholm Syndrome.” Khal Drogo is the rape king complete with rape-based economy. His child is the Stallion Who Mounts the World.

For me, it was Weapon X. I’m not going to pretend I didn’t love Wolverine, but Weapon X was a crash course on how crazy back stories could be, how supplemental material can sometimes eclipse the current storytelling in quality. The Hobbit was probably my first read where I got a distinct sense of before and after

There was a venue for experimental art and music called Fort Thunder that was home to a lot of those dudes before PFFR and ADHD. Check out the Pick A Winner DVD or some of the Paperrad mix tapes for the roots of the good stuff.

I am playing through The Last of Us again. Better half just got us Katamari Forever so that is going to see some play when I don’t feel like stressing myself out with Last of Us.

I think that it speaks volumes that the chain businesses are feeding the National Guard and nameless, local businesses are feeding the local police officers. Painfully clear who is selling a story and how that is separate from the Baltimore community.

This is one of those moments where a child shows you a macaroni art picture of a dog turd and you choke out a “That’s great, kid.” Then he tells you it was inspired by M. C. Escher’s Still Life with Spherical Mirror and a little part of you dies inside.

DUANE!!!
