I think the problem is that the truly wealthy can move or hide their assets around to minimize their exposure. So, you end up impacting the somewhat wealthy, not the truly wealthy (the ones that control our economy). You’d need to a way to pierce the secrecy of trusts, off-shore tax havens, etc. to truly get at those…

So one of best chances in a long time to take back states (I know state v. federal, but waterfall effect), solidify our grip on the House, and take back the presidency, and this is the time we’ve decided eat our own and make unforced errors.

He’s a senator at the FEDERAL level. Which means he has little control over the workings of the City and state government. With this logic, why can’t the president fix it?

1. Well if he just worked harder, they’d see his value and they’d pay him more
2. If he doesn’t like it, he can work somewhere else.
3. Has he really “earned” that additional salary. Seems like he’s overpaid to me.
4. He’s just looking for a handout.

That’s a question I wished they would ask.  The law is much more expansive than Mueller’s interpretation, so why did he go with the most narrow of interpretations.

Well, he’s right that he got a big increase in black voters voting for him in terms of percentage increase- he went from 6% (v. Obama) to 8% (v. Clinton). BTW- GWB got 11% v Kerry in 2004.  In terms of Blexit and all that other nonsense...nope.

It’s the same reason we uses phrases, “oh, this again!? Why do you always have to bring it up” “that was years ago,” “I said I was sorry” “well if you weren’t such a [X]....” “maybe if you worked at little harder in...” in both family conversations and conversations about race.

1. Unless this straw is something less than a type 5 plastic, it’s no more or less recyclable than any other straw. Many recyclers don’t accept them either because it’s a high level plastic and because they are small and aren’t captured by the machinery very well.

Exactly- We should give them information on those who are violating firearms laws (e.g. mishandling, purchasing in a private sale, even if prohibited), tax laws, corruption, environmental laws, laws prohibiting fireworks, building code violations, etc.
