Hmm.. I find that wetting the skin of the potato makes it easier to peel though. Maybe the slightly wet skin increases the effective coefficient of friction.. or something.

In addition to squeezing the glutes HARD, I also tighten the core. Both of these feel very necessary as the amount of weight approaches the max.

For those with naturally dry skin: On really cold (and perhaps windy) days, an oil-based moisturizer really helps with exposed skin areas. If it is bad enough, I have even been known to apply a little vaseline or aquaphor, especially on the elbows, knees and legs.

Another option is to reduce the “expected number of miles driven” or whatever it may be called for you. (I have GEICO). When establishing a policy, they usually ask for an estimate, or they may ask how many miles you drove in the previous year.  You may need to call your provider to see if they offer this.
