+1 for SJC, especially if you live closer to SJC than SFO. It is a smaller airport and less busy than SFO. And the new terminal is nice!

Agreed! 280 is a beautiful drive. A couple of caveats:

Regarding annual fees — I would consider downgrading the (presumably premium) card to a more basic one without the annual fee. This way, you keep the credit history without the fee.
