Am I the only one who thinks Shakir would be a better Spike, after seeing him bust those martial arts moves in Luke Cage season 2? I’ve never seen Cho do any physical stuff like that, three Faux Trek movies notwithstanding.

I think that’s my issue with this piece. Since it’s simplifies the issue as being merely “If you didn’t date a black girl in highschool, it’s probably because you’re an asshole.”

Someone explained to me once that “Nice Guy” is a self-defined term. As in, every guy defines himself as nice, no matter how big of an asshole he actually is.

This reminds me of the episode of Catfish where there was a girl who, naturally, thought she was being Catfish’d.

I agree. It is freeing to not view everyone through the lens of potential paramours. I did not reach the conclusion the same way as you, though.
