Pray for your enemies! What a loser!

No! Just noting that how casually Jesus Christ is mocked versus how other religious traditions are defended. But I am getting REKT by this comment thread.

lol, LOVE THY NEIGHBOR! So lame!

Lol! Upvote! Christian trolls getting all offended. PWNED.

Lol! You got me there! Not ignorant or insensitive at all!

Making Fun of Jesus = Easy and Funny!
Making Fun of Buddha = Ignorant
Making Fun of Mohammed = Racist (and Dangerous)

On Hitler's birthday? Outrageous!

The dad rock label is unfair, but I am rolling my eyes at this concert. Definitely these guys are doing it for the cash. Which they have every right to do. But it's aimed at baby boomers with 401k money to spend, not to expose new fans to the music.

I agree with this. People need to learn to turn off the TV. Why should this form of entertainment impact the way you feel about real people? Hollywood will always show us the most beautiful people in the world. These people are in the .0001% of the population in terms of looks. I've never judged a woman based on

Wanted to up-vote twice, but can't. Excellent comment.

I think that's a great point. So much of art hits you in your early adult years. At 33, reading time is preciously rare and sadly devoted mostly to business books, self-help, and NPR-ish non-fiction books (all of which would be better as magazine articles, few requiring 200+ pages). When I find time for fiction,

18 year old me: "Dave Eggers!" *reads book, gets inspired*

Great post. These films are reflective of an Evangelical culture that values identity over substance. These films, Facebook Christianity, and Christ-as-branding demonstrates how deeply our self-worshipping culture has influenced the Church. Christianity is about loving God above all things and loving others. It's

Exactly. The numbers show Trump does well among "Evangelicals" who rarely go to church. People have taken the term "Christian" as a brand, not an encounter with God made man.

Yeah, he lost me there. I liked his point about "Ants" being condescending, but he went off the rails with the cool kids shit. I hate that "once was lost but now am found" routine when you're talking about being popular in high school. Save that shit for a heroin addiction.

The Exorcist does a great job eliminating scientific explanations. The priest is skeptical that there's anything to do with demons. But after repeated attempts at a natural cause, it becomes abundantly clear that we are dealing with the supernatural. Unlike other movies that jump straight to ghosts or demons, this one

If you really, really object to a business's practices, you can opt out. Just because the vast majority of people don't hold the same objections doesn't mean you are denied a choice.

A car payment and a mortgage is secured by a real asset (a house, a car). A politician wouldn't recommend running up credit card debt or student loans.

None of these things are "needs". A computer wasn't a "need" until the 1990s. Same with a car. Presumably a computer is better than no computer, or a bad car is better than no car. But you still exercise a choice.

I've opened several credit cards in my children's names. They are fucked.
