It cracks me up how the second sentence of all you people is “...I’m not here to talk about the Gawker post.” Is this like the Gawker equivalent of Mark McGwire’s testimony to Congress about steroids? “I’m not here to talk about the past...”

He owns the place. Who’s he going to submit his resignation to?

This company is much worse off without him.

“Who?”

You misunderstand. I didn’t say two wrongs make a right; I said (implied) that two wrongs can make competitive balance in sports. If everybody’s doing the same thing nobody has an advantage.

I was just coming here to say the same thing. Just like sprinters have “wind aided” times, Steffi Graf should have “Gunther Parche aided” victories. Not that she wasn’t great, of course, but she’d be hard pressed to take a game off Serena, let alone a set.

Oh please. She’s not doing anything the others aren’t (other than winning, I mean).

My point about Serena was simply this: if more people are willing to pay to watch you play, you get paid more. The WNBA has lost money since inception; they’re supported by the NBA. There have been three women’s soccer leagues founded since the 1999 USA Women’s World Cup victory (including the WUSA, which somehow lost

Women’s sports get no respect or coverage, even though people increasingly are interested and want to watch.

Nothing to do with alcohol; she’s just a violent, dangerous bully. If you don’t believe me, ask the HS classmate who took out a restraining order against her:

God, that is awful. And by awful, I mean +1.

You’re President Ford and your friend owns a Greek restaurant? Man, Spiro Agnew has fallen a long way.

Sergio Aguirre is weak, pale.

Congratulations to her on being the first Russian to be a head coach in the NBA summer league.

I think there is plenty to complain about with some of the reporting done here

This is pretty much the ideal scenario for Mexico: either they win, in which case they’re happy, or they get to tell themselves pretty stories about how they would have won if it hadn’t been for Chicharito’s injury, in which case they’re happy.

In fairness to the referee, there was absolutely no way he could have seen that (which Jara knew).

My ideal: next match 4-3-3 with Press-Morgan-Leroux across the front (or maybe Morgan-Press-Leroux, though I’m not sure Press has the composure for CF), Lloyd-Heath-Brian/O’Reilly across the middle. Yeah, there’s no natural DM but I think the back 4 has been the least of the problems. If that’s too offense minded,

what if the US decided to make soccer players instead of basketball players? Spoiler: we would win.

Will he be able to travel to Italy? Or will he be arrested due to the ~30M he still owes for tax evasion in the 1980s?
