I like the game but the story is just...nonexistent. I remember the first cutscene playing and me trying to pay rapt attention. That lasted about another two missions before I said "fuck it."

I like it too, and also recognize it's many flaws and shortcomings, but it's more fun to make comments about how you were on the verge of tears last night thinking about what Bungie "promised" you and then didn't deliver on. As I said on twitter a couple of days ago, no wonder Kotaku needs to run a column for dudes…
You were going to cry because you feel a corporation lied to you? Jesus. I hope you never read food labels. You will be truly heart-broken.
The difference, I would say, is that the actual gameplay in WoW is fucking boring (do your key rotations and then pop cooldowns when ready. Yawn.) and in Destiny it's actually fun, since you're shooting things and running around, not pressing buttons on a bar.
Where do you live that you saw a movie with popcorn and a drink (regardless of whether or not it was matinee) for $10? That's a fucking steal. If I could go to the movies for $10 even, I'd go all the time!
No, none of that makes sense, since players are drafted and signed randomly, not according to local demographics.
You can be hispanic and black. Ever heard of, say, the Dominican Republic? But I agree, overall it can be very confusing. Naturally some subjectivity crept in. It can be difficult to be objective when it comes to race since it's such a fluid concept, really.
It's amusing to people because no one under age 45, maybe 50, has an AOL email address.
Not hating! Like I said, people's gaming habits are none of my business, and they're not something I'd normally comment on. But this guy had someone go out of his way to point out that he hasn't played nonstop (in their eyes). Come on, now!
As opposed to....? Newsflash, buddy: all of these corporations (every. single. one.) is in it for the reveneue, the $$$, the cash, the moolah. None of them are in it for the cultural relevance. Even indies that make "quirky" games and all of that, they're still trying to make money.
It's unreal. They truly think that's not a lot of playtime, I guess. I wonder who they consider "hardcore."
I like how you say that as if taking a week off work and stocking up on food so you can stay inside and play a game nonstop is a normal thing to do.
Fun fact: @N3ac3y didn't get an early copy of the game, didn't play non stop, and still won the race to level 30 #itswhatyouputinthetime
It's better than it not being leveled out at all, effectively making ALL PVP inaccessible to those that don't dedicate themselves to it. Think of WoW. The hardcore PVPers make PVP dumb for any "casuals" since they get demolished. In Destiny, I feel like I can actually play regardless of my gear or level and still…
I'm glad some of you are pointing this route out. I will hit 20 tonight and this is what I'm going to start doing. No Loot Cave, just Strikes for marks.
You sound like my type of dude. That's basically my approach to video games right there, down to the blunt :)
Completely agree. The story blows and he plays a floating metal box. What did people expect him to do? Is it great? No, but I think it's overblown. His voice-acting is perfectly adequate. It may not be great but it's a far cry from the horrible performance many people are complaining about.
I live in NJ and I legitimately have had people get pissed at me for saying I don't care for their coffee. I once even said I'd rather get Starbucks, and I was almost lynched.
Welcome to Kotaku. Archaotic hates popular games. He's been around for years, and they all suck. He's just above it all, don't you get it, maaaaaan?
I am shocked because I've read your comments shitting on almost every popular game going back years.
