This isn't all that true. The AKC has been increasingly diligent in not registering to pet stores and mills, leading to various bullshit registries being created, the most notorious of which is the APRI. If you go to their website, they state they are proponent's of "individual's rights to pet ownership" and the

I suppose that's true. Can you fill me in on some of those breeds? I have a Shiba Inu and I'm very well-versed on Shiba breed history and problems, and for the most part they're a healthy breed, and if a breeder does health testing (as they should, such as CERF, OFA, etc.) then the dogs tend to be perfectly healthy.

Yes, this. On the Gawker thread I made a post about why people act like I've slapped a baby when they find out I bought my Shiba Inu from a reputable (show) breeder.

Agreed about the Ivies and grade inflation. Not so true about other schools, though. Example: Johns Hopkins does its best to mentally break you. No grade inflation at that fucking place.

Know what's weird, I got used to the bitter cold from walking my dog. Today I walked out, it was 30 degrees, and I honestly thought it was balmy. It's calming, walking the dog.

You could just not feed your dog crappy food, you know. I will give my dog a raw meaty bone every once in a while (oxtail, chicken/turkey neck, etc.) and it's fun because she gets so excited and it's so fucking primal to watch her tear into a hunk of animal.

I find that to be crap. Some can't afford better quality dog food, but most can, they just don't make it a priority. There are PLENTY of decent dog foods at more than reasonable prices that are easily affordable by EVERYONE. Not everyone needs to feed Orijen ($3 a pound) or Ziwipeak (over $5 a pound). But that

I guess we both just pushed each other's buttons. It happens. Sorry for any angst I may have caused.

Well, I don't think anyone else here will find it funny, but I laughed out loud at this.

I'm really digging your username. I love me some Dog Food Advisor. What a fantastic site. And yeah, you pretty much summed up the problem with dog food today. It's really pretty amazing how defensive people get about this topic. I never really call people out directly except for direct family members on dog food,

Why are you getting so pissy about this? Commercial dog food can be pretty bad, and a large number of people don't care to research any better or don't mind since "it's just a dog."

I never said you were a bad person or pet owner if you bought Alpo or whatever. I just said it was crap dog food and shouldn't be fed.

Probably for the same reason some people call others out when they use derogatory words or when they hear ignorant comments said aloud: because it's something I'm passionate about and I believe in (staying away from crappy commercial dog food, pets' health and safety) and a mainstream school of thought in that area

I guess I'll be "that person" who snarks in a totally-unrelated-to-dog-food-way that Alpo is horrible and you shouldn't feed it to your dog.

Ok, I never comment on cosplay posts, and I tend to find cosplay weird, if I'm being honest, but she's rocking the hell out of that Shepard armor and she's really fucking sexy.

Goddamn it. What is seen cannot be unseen. This is all I will think about now.

Spoiler alert: it's not really that cute.

Bitch bitch bitch bitch. I enjoyed this immensely. It beat the hell out of actually working. And look, it's 5:05! Almost time to go home. Thank you, Drew.

That's true, it's a contradictory statement. I guess I'm judging, then, but not maliciously.
