Thank you for injecting reason into the argument.  Whenever these articles come out everyone assumes EV owners charge their cars from empty every day.... and assumes that 100% of cars on the road will be replaced by EV’s in year one of the sales mandate.... when the reality is like 7% annually.  

Fellow F31 driver, and I am with you. The N20 just flat out has better performance than the old I6.... but I would prefer the silky smooth revving and sound of the 6.

I bought a 5 year old BMW wagon a few years back with print worn off two buttons. 58k miles. I dunno, maybe the previous owner had rough hands or long nails. It happens.
