You are reading way too much into my statement. Are you an attorney? :) Did I say I had no job? I was just implying that my larger car is the one that we use for longer trips as with 2 kids and a dog, it is impractical for both of us to have small carsIt is also my commuter. Definitely did not imply that the

Kia has the Hofmeister kink.  BMW does not.

I’m not sure I follow you? The linked article was just pointing out that most Americans live in suburbs.   EV’s make most sense in suburban commutes .

70% of Americans live in a single family dwelling, typically with access to power. Also, many (most) of those city dwellers actually live in the suburbs.... Or older homes inside the city.... not apartments or condos. at least outside of NYC.... and an EV is perfect for a two car suburban lifestyle with a garage. The

It will be a long time before EV’s can compete with base model efficient commuters, but many, like my wife, want a comfortable, well equipped car to spend two hours of her day in and a base TM3 is fairly well equipped, so you might compare it more on options and performance with a base BMW 3-series or Jetta GLI

Remember though, the average household in the U.S. has 1.97 cars and has a garage. . Tesla is certainly good enough to be one of those cars now for most people.

I have a wagon with 17” rims and decent sidewall.  You can have both.  Also the car is statistically more likely to maneuver better to avoid the accident or rollover.

+ a few bad apples.

I have a Miele canister vac and a Dyson cordless. Probably the best cordless on the market, but the Miele will probably last my lifetime. Dyson always use that crappy brittle plastic and basic things like removing the canister take a lot of fiddling. Have already had to replace parts after 2 years.

Had Porsche listened to their fans, they would have stuck with quirky air cooled sports cars and never switched to SUV’s or liquid cooled cars.... and they would have either gone bankrupt, or remained as a fringe automaker like Lotus.

So funny that they not only kept the Fiero doors but also the black rubber strip.

Voice control works great on my phone.   Terrible on my current car... but the tech is out there.

I used to think this but in reality use my steering wheel volume controls most of the time.

I dunno man, many think Musk’s long game is colonizing Mars (solar tech, battery tech, mining company, life support company, Rocket company..... electric cars are just part of the equation for him. Guy is crazy enough it could be true. Have a good weekend.

I appreciate the context and thoughtful response. I agree that Musk’s twitter game is all about attention, just like our president and made no defense of the Tesla crowd. I also agree with much of what you posted. I’m simply pointing out that when you battle them with your own hyperbole it is just as bad. Do you

Again, I enjoy reading your explanation of Hydrogen science as I know nothing about it... and get that you don’t like the Californian Tesla crowd due to their greenwashing and blind enthusiasm. Just beware that you are playing just as loose of a game with facts about EV technology by saying that roadster batteries

I appreciate your scientific explanation and am certainly not a Tesla fan, but the weight issues are overblown, especially with the improvements in battery tech. A Model 3 long range has 1000 lbs of battery, not 1500. Add another 100 lbs for the motor. A compact LS V8 is 500 lbs. add 200 for the transmission. 100

Confirmed that the F150 Lariat has no knotted ropes under the hood.

Indeed. People love talking about the 300 hp Camry or Fusion, but those cars prove numbers aren’t everything.... and their transmissions don’t help.I just traded a 210 hp GTI for a 250 hp BMW wagon and both feel far faster than a 300 hp Impala/Fusion/Camry’s that Hertz occasionally brings.

Modern keyless systems are terrific. I have used them for years with zero issues. Tells me right away if the key is not detected in my pocket.
