Yeah, I mean, it made sense as a hookup app (and it's based on grindr which explicitly was a hookup app), but it's horrendous for dating, and now it's mostly spam anyway.

Low strength permanent magnets on the exterior of an Xbox would have zero issues. There’s a persistent myth that holds over from the floppy days, but magnets have to be quite strong to even affect magnetic tape.
Having tried OKC, Tinder, Bumble, that weird bagel one, and even Feeld, Hinge is the only one where I both consistently match with people, don’t get swamped with bots, and receive a decent volume of unsolicited likes. It *is* bizarre, but it is what it is.
Since, according to the article, Hinge or the parent company owns literally the majority of the dating sites minus two, I’d say they basically cornered the market.
You’d be surprised how many people can’t even be bothered with that blurb.
What probably helped for me was being brutally honest in my profile. Cosplay photos, favorite animes, star trek, etc. all over. Found my soulmate who will stay up late gaming with me and then fall asleep to The Simpsons on bed. Added all the things I wouldn't want to give up because someone thought it was "weird".
“Evolution didnt make us” to meet people at a bar, either. The “traditional” way of meeting a “mate” per “evolution” is literally just “get laid whatever cost, consent be damned.” Good to know where you stand, though, so thanks for exposing yourself.
Evolution didn’t make us that way. Get out there are find a mate the traditional way.
This is why you’re shadowbanned.
I went down the rabbit hole. Hinge was by far my best experience as a man. Especially on the premium subscription. Tried them all, even paid, after I got dumped out of nowhere. I basically had a year of far too many dates and apps, BUT I did find my human.
Apps are awful because people are awful. We say one thing, we do something else. Studies have shown that the top 30% of users on dating apps are getting something like 90% of the swipes. If you’re not in that 30%, you’re basically setting money on fire every month because the chance of meeting someone is ridiculously…
Gonna just go ahead and call bullshit on Hinge’s stated goals. They do NOT want you to delete the app, they want you to stay engaged so they can make money off you. The fact that they SAY they want something, just makes it PR and Marketing spin.
Exactly, that's how it was. Ever since match.com took over, it has been just tinder, just swiping. All the good stuff is gone. It really was a very cool, uncynical service.
I miss the old OKC, where you could just filter down to what you’re looking for, and browse, had long form q+a, and was very poly friendly. (it’s now basically an even worse tinder).
I get what you’re saying but no, we definitely want more heroes.
But I also want all the other stuff you mentioned. I have over 800 hours played as Lucio. I want new supports, so I can retire these damn skates.
I bet he just saw the data that showed just how many people have him blocked and it hurt his little man baby feelings. He really is a pathetic human being.
This is perfect for so many reasons - but the biggest one for me is when they released at midnight I could not watch them until the next night after a full day of work and avoiding the internet to avoid spoiler articles - especially on sites like this one. Now my wife and I can watch the show the same evening it…
It’s not that crazy. Skyrim came out 12 years ago. Game sizes have increased significantly over the past decade. BGS’ most recent game (Fallout 76) requires over 80 gigs and from what I understand, Starfield has more content than any of the studio’s previous games.
The harsh criticism is exhausting. I'm excited either way.
Because you can’t drive the Mechs? Sort of sounds like you just wanted to dunk on Bethesda’s reputation for releasing buggy products. All cool.
