I’m half Dutch and a quarter Danish. I’m disgusted with what I saw in that clip. The Netherlands and Scandinavia are all supposed to be pretty liberal and accepting. I can understand the Netherlands’ lack of space, somewhat, I mean they have had to fill in shoreline to create more land, but at least they could

I could never get behind EJ and Sami because of that time he told her she had to sleep with him or he wouldn’t help her save Lucas’s life when he was trapped in that cave. I hate soap plotlines where they force women to be in a “romance” with their rapist.

And it’s a bit depressing that one of the few outlets doing it is a website that spends most of its time on articles like 10 Disney Princes With Hot Butts.

You know what?

Seriously, that was just an amazingly awful way to deal with the grieving mother of dead baby. Even if she believes the mother is unfairly blaming her, she could just throw it in the trash. Taunting the woman like that is just incredibly cruel and unnecessary.

homeschooling never wins. even here, somehow.

I guess there’s a Pinkham’s Law for every damn story. SHE’S EIGHT.

I read that book. I’m not surprised that Kendra thinks that since Holly was not at all complimentary towards her. You know who else thought she was lying? Izabella St. James, who talked badly about Holly in her book (and St James just sounded insufferable) and is mad that Holly is stealing the spot light.

No snark from me. Yeah, she’s way more beautiful than most of us, but she’s also way more scrutinized. I think she has just as much “right” to have complicated, fucked up, weird feelings about beauty and self-worth as the rest of us. A lot of us would probably find her insight valuable.

I became somewhat close with a manicurist during a time when I was getting my nails done regularly. We weren’t friends, but I liked her and we did have real conversations about things. Among other things, she told me about how she and her husband got to America, beginning with paying someone to help them stow away on

So obviously what Behar said was wrong and idiotic, but I'm kind of surprised at this level of backlash. The people on The View have said way worse about many other groups of people (like rape survivors, for example). Curious.

Also, that it is LITERALLY within people’s lifetimes.

I agree. Bad use of specific title, but nice that she and the young people in her life have this relationship.

woman does thing, is happy. society burns.

I’m also not sure people would be more ok with it if it was a little boy in the same outfit and chest paint - which to me indicates the squickiness isn’t totally due to the fact that the toddler is topless, but discomfort with including a minor child in a cheeky-yet-obviously-sexualized moneymaking scenario.

For fuck’s sake.

Of course a toddler’s body shouldn’t be sexualized, but this child’s body was put in an explicitly sexualized context, which is weird and gross. It’s not child porn, but definitely a step below the worst things I’ve seen on Toddlers and Tiaras.

I get if you’re passing through or by and just see them in the park, totally. Reading this story I thought to myself how I’m at the park at the same time every day so I’d never have realized if anyone had stayed longer than that hour or two window. But I do think I would notice if I was at the park and saw a woman

Lately the Syrian refugee stories make me tear up and clutch my 2 year. I cannot fathom the terror of trying to take a child on such a perilous journey and some of those photos are so heart-wrenching.

And now I wish I was home hugging my 14 month old. When I first heard about this story I thought maybe he had died at home and she was in shock and brought him to the swing...but this...I think I’m done with today.
