I always thought of that guy as Bob Benson after the downfall.

Exactly. Respectful, productive debate is one thing. But pretending that bigotry and ignorance is a legitimate viewpoint has to end. These people want to punish women for having sex, no question about it.

This was the 80s and part of a national fitness initiative, so I don't think much sensitivity was applied. The Nil kids weren't announced, but they were the few who didn't get up. To be honest Bronze and Silver weren't great either.

Even worse, they used to have standardized fitness testing when I was a kid, and you'd get sorted into Excellence, Gold, Silver, and Bronze categories. But below that was Nil (this was the actual name). They handed out all the medals at the year-end awards ceremony and it was painfully obvious who didn't get anything

This scene is why I am an awesome bargainer. I just channel Phyllis Nefler and the deals flow.

I really felt that Nicki's usual joie-de-vivre was missing in this video (except for a bit of the banana chopping scene). I don't care if she's naked, but it didn't seem like she was super into it.

I love how in her book and in this interview, Malala sneaks in some sibling rivalry. She is so composed and generous in her perspective, but she can always needle her brothers. Love it!

She inspires such hope in me. And I love her stubborn dad. They make a great pair. (And good luck, Malala's mom! You're awesome, too!)

Reba forever. I keep waiting for the next Reba to show up, but can't be bothered to really follow country radio these days.

Also, I don't know if I can stand to see Manitoba poorly parodied. (Well-parodied, I would love.)

Maybe I've just turned into an old, but I look back on those days of long walks to and from school with a lot of fondness. Meandering home, exploring different things along the way, getting into a bit of mischief. Talking with your buddies. And it was decent exercise. I feel for the kids who don't have that freedom

Weirdly dead in the eyes. Especially from someone who usually oozes charisma.

She felt pretty flat (pun not intended) in this video. Her usual spark/fierce attitude is totally missing. And during the bridge, her rapping was about the same quality as that woman who put out a song a few weeks ago about Jay-Z hitting on her. Nicki, you can do better than Awkward Drake.

Don't you mean to say "Kim Kardashian flaunts adorable nephew"?

I think I'm hyper-aware at the moment because I've been home on mat leave for the last year watching their shenanigans twice a day. But seriously, just don't block someone's driveway.

That's a perfect example! Most of us are just trying to get by.

Ha! Me too! I had so many ideas about what was going to happen. Going with the flow (in my opinion) is the healthiest thing you can do as a parent, because kids have their own plans!

The mega-school factor is really an issue. It's super-disruptive to communities and to kids' investment in them (and to communities' investment in kids).

Honestly, if that's what it takes to make you feel safe, it's up to you. Parenting is rough and full of all kinds of compromise. And now that I've criticized those parents, I'm certain that I'm going to end up doing the same thing one day.

I always think that every time I judge another parent, I am doomed to be in that same scenario with my daughter. Feeding your 2 year-old an entire chocolate bunny while grocery shopping at 11PM (true story)? Not optimal, but I don't what led up to that.
