Hell, if I was a terminally ill patient and they said "We'll give your family $1MM if you do this" I'd do it. Of course, they'd probably have to get me a motorized hospital bead and a grabber because I'd be too weak.
I agree. I was truly wondering what gap this might fill—UtaStoat gave a good answer. And as far as thunder goes, how do you know it's not the sign of an angry god?
Thanks. This makes sense.
Really? An online discussion makes you want to punch stuff? And thanks for calling me stupid/foolish—I really appreciate that.

Not trying to debate the merits of this, but beyond just human understanding, why bother? Is there any practical application that the research money funding this will prove out? This seems like useless science.
I was hoping the guy would pull out an iPhone and start playing again, to which Mike Tyson would slap that out of his hands, too, and say "Ok, maybe two steps".
"i went out and beat him in his head and he fell down in the street" is what I would've expected. "titanic right hand", "convulsing" and "infantile" doesn't sound like Tyson. At least not from the few interviews in which I've seen him.
If it lasts a year, I'll be surprised.
Can't click to promote this, so I'll reply to do so. Lots of good points. Although I would say there were just as many bands as there are now, they just didn't have access to consumers as easily as they do now being able to promote themselves and their music online without having to rely on label marketing budgets. …
Gotcha. Sure, some fall into that category, but I also had little luck when experimenting on other albums outside of the mainstream—one of those things where you hear a song from a not-so-well known artist, buy the album and think "what was I thinking buying this".
lol.. no worries. :)
Awesome info. Thanks for it. :)
Oh, I know there's a ton of great stuff out there. That's the beauty of a service like MOG/Rhapsody/etc. I can find stuff that I really like without having to risk any money on it—since I'm paying for a subscription, I can sample whatever I'd like. Not sure why you think I get my music all from billboard charts or…
Yeah, but back in the days you're thinking of, there was just as much crap music then, too. It's just that we don't remember it and since it sucked, it doesn't get any attention or airplay now. 20 years from now we'll all be saying today's music sucks and is nothing compared to the 2000's when we had artists like X,…
Dude, it was a joke. Molten iron, which it would be at 5k degrees, has no magnetic properties and it wouldn't work. Obvious humor not so obvious I guess.
Well then let's just make reactors that operate on giant slabs of melted uranium instead of stupid rods. Seems like it'd just be easier than having that extra step of rod-manufacturing. And mix in some iron so we could just suspend the blob in a giant magnetic field so there's no chance of it melting through…
