I don't know where I said it was abuse. I just think she shouldn't be presenting these stories as "fun anecdotes about my quirky, fun childhood and relationship with my sister!" like…she clearly has no idea that there's something problematic about the behavior she's presenting AND THAT'S THE ISSUE. If she had said "I

Oh, so it's ok because 17yo Lena manipulated her 10yo SLEEPING sister to sleep next to her while she masturbated. It's ok because she was using her SLEEPING sister as a "hot water bottle or cat" to cozy up with. Yeah, that's a totally normal way to see your sister, as a prop for your comfort.

I took it as "she covered this song and the way she did it was so fucking absolutely ridiculous how could she ever top that" cuz i watch her cover of the song for laughs regularly.

but there was more than just viewing/touching her sister's genitals. you're ignoring the manipulation and the "17yo masturbating in a bed with her 10yo sister"

Yeah, like, I don't think she's this horrific molester who needs to go to jail, I just think it's weird how she's celebrating these "anecdotes" in her book and not realizing how fucked up the behavior is.

…but the part where she would manipulate her 10yo sister into sleeping in her bed and then would masturbate next to her at 17 tho….

What about when she was 17 and would manipulate her 10yo sister with candy and money so she'd sleep in her bed and then Lena would masturbate next to her?

Yeah, the vagina pebble story is pretty "kids explore shit and her parents didn't teach her boundaries" but the manipulation and "I'm 17 and would masturbate next to my sister who I treated like a hot water bottle" is creepy as fuck.

I don't really want to support Dunham after all of that and think she's super gross (wasn't there a scene one season where Hannah's cousin accuses her of molesting her and Hannah plays it off?). However, I stream the show illegally so I don't really see it as supporting her if I watch?

..you need to watch the show. that's the joke….

you're totally all seeing the edited sketch from the west coast feed and not the original where she stands there silent for 2 minutes and then mouths "WHAT DO I DO?" to someone offstage.

It was more the issue of walking back on stage, freezing for 2 minutes, looking at someone offstage and going "WHAT DO I DO?!" Recovering well would've been walking back on stage and jumping back into the dialogue.

Then she probably wouldn't have come back on stage, stood there silent, then looked at a person off-stage and shrug like "wtf am i supposed to do?" then start reading the cue cards. I don't think it was the costume, I think it was a cue card error in a cast that doesn't seem to think memorizing lines is important.

when you're on stage with people who can barely read cue cards, any competent performance will seem like overacting. put her on a stage with Wiig, Armisen, or Ferrell and she'd seem like a wallflower.

Oh yeah, Prince handled it well, it was just another example of the SNL crew fucking it up for me. What is going on over there?! If I were a musician I wouldn't want to be on the show. They've had so many technical difficulties this season.

He played air guitar for the first verse because his guitar wasn't plugged in, he realized it and plugged it in so he could actually play for the next verse. Musicians don't usually have to plug in in the middle of a performance.

Also, SNL brought to you by Scandal. The Malia/Sasha "shut up bitch, we watching Scandal" line was funny. When the bickering couple sketch referenced Scandal again for no reason, not so funny.

I really wish any of his solo attempts had been successful. Dude needs to get the fuck off SNL.

dont you dare lump Zamata in with them. She can actually read her lines. I felt a sigh of relief when she came into the Jones/Rock sketch because i thought "finally, someone who knows how to act on stage"

i dont think he forgot so much as the sound crew forgot. im pretty sure prince stopped setting up his own equipment awhile ago.
